Job Description
WSI Trash & Recycling Valet is a family-owned and majority women-operated company that has been an industry pioneer in providing valet trash and recycling services since its founding in 2010 in Utah. The company serves apartment communities across several states, including Utah, Nevada, Colorado, and Idaho, with a strong commitment to the people who take care of these communities. WSI is known for its dedication to customer service, community care, and for offering flexible employment opportunities that fit a variety of lifestyles. With a presence in Boise and Ada County, Idaho, WSI continues to grow and seeks motivated individuals to join its team as part-time Valet Porters.
The role of a Part-Time Valet Porter with WSI Trash & Recycling Valet is ideal for individuals looking for short, manageable evening shifts that fit around their busy lives. This position involves working Monday through Friday evenings for one to two hours, typically starting around 6:30 or 7:00 PM, with no weekend shifts required. Porters complete their routes independently at their own pace, walking assigned apartment communities to collect bagged trash, recycling, and cardboard directly from residents' doors. The collected materials are then transported to onsite dumpsters, chutes, or compactors. A key responsibility is also ensuring proper recycling practices by separating items and checking for contamination as well as cleaning up any loose trash in common areas. The role includes utilizing a mobile app to check in and out, document routes, upload photos, and leave courtesy notices when necessary. Occasionally, Porters may assist with pet waste station servicing.
This opportunity is especially well-suited for students, those seeking a second job, retirees, stay-at-home parents, caregivers, and anyone who needs a consistent, predictable, and flexible way to earn extra income in the evenings. Competitive pay rates are offered, starting at $20 per hour for standard sites and $25 per hour for sites that require the use of a personal open-bed pickup truck. Applicants must be 18 years or older, possess a valid Idaho driver’s license and auto insurance, and have access to a smartphone with an active data plan. Training is provided, and no prior experience is needed, making it accessible for beginners or those re-entering the workforce. Physical demands include extensive walking, stair climbing, lifting up to 50 pounds, and working outdoors regardless of weather conditions. WSI is an equal opportunity employer that values diversity, inclusion, and offers employment without discrimination based on race, gender, age, disability, or veteran status. This role offers a unique blend of independence, physical activity, and community involvement, with the benefit of short, evening-only shifts that allow employees to maintain a healthy work-life balance.
