Job Requirements
- High school diploma or GED
- at least one year experience in a full production kitchen or equivalent combination of education and experience
- availability to work flexible schedules including opening, mid-day, closing, night shifts, weekends, and holidays
- ability to stand or walk for prolonged hours
- ability to communicate effectively
- ability to detect taste and smell
- ability to handle kitchen objects and operating food service equipment safely
- compliance with sanitation and safety regulations
- ability to pass a background check
- ability to work in a hot and humid environment
- manual dexterity
- physical ability to occasionally lift up to 50 pounds
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- minimum one year experience in a full production kitchen or equivalent education and experience
- culinary degree or certificate preferred
- at least two years hands-on experience in high volume food service operation preferred
- Food Handler certificate from County of San Diego preferred
- ability to read, write, and understand English
- basic math skills
- ability to follow verbal and written instructions
- manual dexterity to use kitchen equipment and utensils
- physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds
Job Duties
- Prepares products as assigned by production records
- follows approved recipes and standards for consistency and accuracy of products
- maintains the cleanliness of the workstation at all times
- follows all sanitation guidelines ensuring fresh, wholesome products
- operates and maintains kitchen equipment in a safe and efficient manner
- accepts deliveries and stores raw food products according to established standards
- may assist in the cleaning of equipment, tools, or pans
- complies with company policies and federal, state, and local laws and regulations
