Job Description

The hiring organization is a service provider specializing in supporting events and large venues within the St. Louis Metropolitan area. Known for its commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness and environmental safety, this company plays a pivotal role in ensuring that event spaces remain sanitized, presentable, and welcoming for attendees. Operating primarily in a part-time and temporary capacity, the company offers opportunities for individuals who appreciate flexible work arrangements tied to seasonal and on-demand events. Rooted in strong professionalism, responsiveness, and operational efficiency, the organization prides itself on delivering outstanding porter and janitorial services. This entity's work largely revolves around popular local events, providing crucial services that contribute to the overall success and user experience of venues in the St. Louis region. The company requires its team members to be self-sufficient, dependable, and able to work both independently and as part of a larger team, always adhering to established safety protocols and schedules.

The role offered is that of a Part-Time / Temporary Event Porter. This position is tailored for individuals who possess physical stamina and strength, with the ability to lift at least 50 pounds and remain active for extended periods throughout their shifts. The primary focus of an Event Porter is to handle cleaning and maintenance tasks across various public areas at events, including floors, carpets, bathrooms, windows, and common spaces. The work environment is dynamic, with events occurring both indoors and outdoors across different venues in the metropolitan region. Candidates must demonstrate the ability to follow instructions precisely, work efficiently under minimal supervision, and be available for varying shifts, including evenings and weekends. An essential aspect of this role involves the safe and correct use of cleaning chemicals and equipment, with an acute emphasis on observing all safety procedures, including the use of caution signage to prevent accidents. Effective communication is also key, as porters are expected to report any safety hazards and maintain a courteous interaction with both supervisors and event attendees. Applicants should be comfortable using digital tools, such as email or phones, for scheduling and job confirmations, and must have access to electronic banking for payroll purposes. The Event Porter role offers a unique opportunity to engage in active, physically demanding work that supports the smooth operation of high-profile events while fostering skills in time management, customer service, and mechanical equipment handling.
