Job Description
Right At School is a leading provider of extended day enrichment programs dedicated to creating safe, engaging, and meaningful environments for children to learn, play, and grow. With over a decade of experience, this company currently serves more than 35,000 students across 17 states in the United States, making it one of the most trusted names in after school, before school, and school break camp programs. Their mission is built around three core pillars: inspiring a love of learning, supporting schools, and giving parents peace of mind. \n\nRight At School believes every child deserves a safe space where they can explore their interests, build social skills, and develop academically beyond the traditional school day. The organization believes that enrichment programs should be both fun and educational with a focus on character building, healthy living, and community engagement. With a strong commitment to quality, Right At School emphasizes the importance of a skilled and passionate team of educators who bring these values to life every day. These educators are central to the company’s vision of expanding access to affordable and exceptional learning opportunities to as many students, families, and schools as possible. \n\nThis role within Right At School offers an exciting opportunity for mission-driven individuals who are passionate about early childhood education and creating positive learning experiences. The position involves working directly with children under the age of 13 during the critical afterschool hours between 1 pm and 6 pm, Monday through Friday, with no weekend shifts. Salary for this role ranges from $20 to $23 per hour, depending on experience. \n\nThe educator will be responsible for organizing program materials, documenting attendance and incidents, and delivering a dynamic daily curriculum designed to expand learning beyond the classroom. The curriculum focuses not only on academic growth but also on social character-building activities that inspire curiosity and confidence. Educators will use effective classroom management and positive guidance techniques learned through coursework and company training sessions to foster a nurturing environment where children feel safe and motivated to learn. \n\nIn addition to academic support, the role includes supervising homework completion, leading fun fitness activities, and engaging children during play to promote physical, emotional, and social well-being. Effective communication with children, parents, staff, and school personnel is key to success in this position, ensuring that everyone involved is informed and supported. Continuous professional development is encouraged through regular meetings with the Program Manager to review progress and maintain team accountability. \n\nIdeal candidates are those who have at least one year of experience working with children under 13 years old and possess college credits in early childhood education, child development, elementary education, or related fields. A genuine drive to inspire a love for learning and a commitment to fostering healthy living habits are essential qualities. The role also requires the physical ability to lift up to 25 pounds and meet state-specific requirements, including LIVE Scan fingerprinting, First Aid/CPR certification, Mandated Reporter training, and a health certificate with a negative TB test from a physician. \n\nJoining Right At School means becoming part of a supportive community that values your contribution and offers numerous benefits. Educators enjoy competitive pay, commuter benefits, supplemental insurance options based on eligibility, and the opportunity to contribute to a 401k plan for future financial security. Employees also have access to free before and after school childcare through Right At School, as well as exclusive perks and discounts on hotels, car rentals, theme parks, sports events, and shopping. Ongoing professional development is supported through pay raise incentives, enabling staff to grow their skills and advance their careers. The organization is deeply committed to equity and inclusivity, welcoming applicants of all backgrounds and identities, and adhering to equal opportunity employment principles.
