ALDI is currently seeking enthusiastic part-time cashiers and stockers to join their store teams. These roles are vital to the smooth operations and excellent customer service ALDI delivers. As a part-time cashier, you will be responsible for providing a friendly and efficient checkout experience, adeptly using the point-of-sale system to process purchases accurately. You'll engage with customers, address concerns, and help maintain the flow of checkout lines by opening additional registers as needed. Additionally, cashiers assist with curbside pickup orders, ensuring that customer purchases are gathered and delivered promptly and correctly.

Stockers at ALDI play an essential role in maintaining the visual appeal and inventory of the store. You will be tasked with stocking shelves and displays neatly while adhering to merchandising planograms designed to maximize sales. This involves working early shifts starting as early as 5:00 a.m. and handling products with care in diverse temperature environments, including freezers and coolers. Both cashiers and stockers support store management in achieving operational goals such as efficiency, total loss prevention, and adhering to company policies. Physical demands of the roles include lifting products weighing up to 45 pounds and operating equipment such as floor scrubbers and pallet jacks.

This part-time employment opportunity offers fewer than 30 hours per week with a starting wage of $19.50 per hour, increasing annually up to $21.50 by the fifth year. Job Requirements

At least 18 years old required
High school diploma or equivalent preferred
Prior work experience in a retail environment preferred

Job Qualifications

Ability to provide prompt and courteous customer service
Ability to operate all store equipment such as cash registers, floor scrubber, cardboard baler, pallet jacks, handheld devices, computers, etc
Ability to interpret and apply ALDI operating policies and procedures
Ability to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing
Ability to perform basic arithmetic such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division
Ability to follow instructions and pay attention to detail
Ability to work both independently and with others
Ability to organize, prioritize and complete assigned tasks to maximize productivity within established timeframes
Ability to maintain reliable and prompt attendance
Ability to meet availability requirements

Job Duties

Models and fulfills all customer service principles and escalates concerns to store management as necessary
Assists store management in achieving operational efficiency goals
Assists store management in achieving total loss goals
Complies with all established company policies and processes
Supports store management in providing a safe working environment by identifying and rectifying hazards, ensuring proper ergonomics, and maintaining equipment in proper working order
Maintains store zones standards and merchandising standards at all times
Adheres to inventory procedures and product handling guidelines
Performs general cleaning tasks to company standards
Properly utilizes the point-of-sale (POS) system to accurately scan and process customer purchases and informs store management of scanning concerns or errors (cashier)
Adheres to cash policies and procedures (cashier)
Follows the line policy and opens additional check lanes as required to ensure an efficient checkout (cashier)
Completes curbside pickup orders by retrieving items from the store, verifying order contents, and delivering to customers' vehicles (cashier)
Stocks shelves and displays neatly while following merchandising planograms (stocker)
Stockers must be able to arrive to work as early as 5:00am (stocker)
Required to push, pull, sit, stand, reach, grasp, twist, bend, and move from one area to another
Required to lift, carry, and place product weighing up to 45 pounds on shelves at various heights, including overhead
Required to operate equipment such as a cash register, electric and manual hand jacks, floor scrubber and cardboard baler
Required to stock product in varying temperatures, including freezer and cooler environments
Required to use glass and multipurpose cleaning products
