Job Description

Currently, ALDI is seeking enthusiastic part-time cashiers and stockers to join their team. These roles are essential to maintaining smooth store operations and delivering an excellent shopping experience to customers. The cashier role involves providing friendly and efficient checkout service, ensuring accurate scanning and payment processing via the point-of-sale (POS) system while adhering to cash handling policies. Cashiers also have the responsibility of managing curbside pickup orders, verifying contents, and timely delivering items to customers’ vehicles. Effective communication, attention to detail, and prompt service are critical components of this role.
Stockers, on the other hand, play a pivotal role in keeping the store shelves stocked and organized. They follow merchandising planograms to maximize sales and create appealing product displays. Stockers should be prepared for early shifts, potentially starting as early as 5:00am, and must be capable of performing physical tasks such as lifting up to 45 pounds and working in temperature-controlled environments including freezers and coolers.
Both roles demand a commitment to safety, adherence to company policies, and the ability to work efficiently both independently and as part of a team. Employees are expected to support store management's efforts in achieving operational and total loss goals, maintain store cleanliness, and uphold merchandising standards. The work environment includes operating store equipment ranging from cash registers to floor scrubbers and cardboard balers.

Job Requirements
- At least 18 years old required
- high school diploma or equivalent preferred
- prior work experience in a retail environment preferred
Job Qualifications
- Ability to provide prompt and courteous customer service
- ability to operate all store equipment such as cash registers, floor scrubber, cardboard baler, pallet jacks, handheld devices, computers, etc
- ability to interpret and apply ALDI operating policies and procedures
- ability to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing

- ability to follow instructions and pay attention to detail

Job Duties
- Models and fulfills all customer service principles and escalates concerns to store management as necessary
- assists store management in achieving operational efficiency goals
- assists store management in achieving total loss goals
- complies with all established company policies and processes
- supports store management in providing a safe working environment by identifying and rectifying hazards, ensuring proper ergonomics, and maintaining equipment in proper working order
- maintains store zones standards and merchandising standards at all times
- adheres to inventory procedures and product handling guidelines
- performs general cleaning tasks to company standards
- properly utilizes the point-of-sale (POS) system to accurately scan and process customer purchases and informs store management of scanning concerns or errors
- adheres to cash policies and procedures
- follows the line policy and opens additional check lanes as required to ensure an efficient checkout
- completes curbside pickup orders by accurately retrieving items from the store, verifying order contents, and ensuring timely delivery to customers’ vehicles from the staging area
- stocks shelves and displays neatly while following merchandising planograms to maximize sales
- stockers must be able to arrive to work as early as 5:00am
- pushes, pulls, sits, stands, reaches, grasps, twists, bends, and moves from one area to another
- lifts, carries, and places product weighing up to 45 pounds on shelves at various heights, including overhead
- operates equipment such as a cash register, electric and manual hand jacks, floor scrubber and cardboard baler
- stocks product in varying temperatures, including freezer and cooler environments
- uses glass and multipurpose cleaning products
