Part-Time Store Cashier/Stocker

The cashier role requires providing friendly and efficient checkout services. Cashiers handle customer transactions accurately using the point-of-sale (POS) system, adhere to cash handling policies, and ensure prompt service by opening additional lanes during busy times. They also assist with curbside pickup orders by retrieving, verifying, and delivering items to customers' vehicles. The stocker role focuses on keeping shelves stocked and organized according to merchandising planograms to maximize sales opportunities. Stockers must be willing to arrive early, as shifts can start as early as 5:00 am, and are responsible for maintaining store zone standards and inventory procedures.

Both roles involve supporting store management goals, including operational efficiency, loss prevention, and maintaining a safe working environment. Employees are expected to perform general cleaning tasks, follow company policies, and uphold merchandising and inventory standards. Physically, these positions require tasks such as lifting up to 45 pounds, pushing, pulling, bending, and handling equipment like cash registers, pallet jacks, floor scrubbers, and cardboard balers. Work environments vary from ambient to cooler and freezer conditions.

Ideal candidates for ALDI’s cashier and stocker positions demonstrate a strong ability to provide courteous customer service, effectively communicate, follow instructions, and work independently or collaboratively within a team. Basic arithmetic skills and reliability in attendance are important, along with the ability to prioritize tasks for productivity. While prior retail experience and a high school diploma or equivalent are preferred, ALDI welcomes enthusiastic candidates who meet the minimum age requirement of 18 years.
