ALDI is currently seeking enthusiastic and reliable part-time cashiers and stockers to join their team. These roles are vital in maintaining smooth store operations and delivering excellent service that keeps customers returning. The positions are part-time, averaging fewer than 30 hours per week, with a competitive starting wage of $18.00 per hour, which increases with tenure. As a cashier, you will be the face of the store, providing friendly and efficient checkout service, accurately handling transactions, and engaging with customers to ensure satisfaction. As a stocker, you will be responsible for maintaining shelves fully stocked and organized, following merchandising guidelines to maximize sales and providing a neat and inviting shopping environment.

Both roles demand attention to detail, the ability to work independently and as part of a team, and a commitment to upholding ALDI’s high standards for safety, quality, and customer service. Cashiers are expected to operate the point-of-sale system with accuracy, comply with cash handling policies, and assist with curbside pickup orders. Stockers should be prepared to work early morning shifts, ensure proper handling of products including those in refrigerated areas, and maintain cleanliness throughout their tasks. Physical demands include pushing, pulling, lifting up to 45 pounds, bending, and operating various equipment such as manual and electric hand jacks and floor scrubbers.

Job Requirements

  • At least 18 years old required
  • high school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • prior work experience in a retail environment preferred

Job Qualifications

  • Ability to provide prompt and courteous customer service
  • ability to operate all store equipment such as cash registers, floor scrubber, cardboard baler, pallet jacks, handheld devices, computers, etc
  • ability to interpret and apply ALDI operating policies and procedures
  • ability to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing
  • ability to perform basic arithmetic such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division
  • ability to follow instructions and pay attention to detail
  • ability to work both independently and with others
  • ability to organize, prioritize and complete assigned tasks to maximize productivity within established timeframes
  • ability to maintain reliable and prompt attendance
  • ability to meet availability requirements

Job Duties

  • Models and fulfills all customer service principles and escalates concerns to store management as necessary
  • assists store management in achieving operational efficiency goals
  • assists store management in achieving total loss goals
  • complies with all established company policies and processes
  • supports store management in providing a safe working environment by identifying and rectifying hazards, ensuring proper ergonomics, and maintaining equipment in proper working order
  • maintains store zones standards and merchandising standards at all times
  • adheres to inventory procedures and product handling guidelines
  • performs general cleaning tasks to company standards
  • properly utilizes the point-of-sale (POS) system to accurately scan and process customer purchases and informs store management of scanning concerns or errors
  • adheres to cash policies and procedures
  • follows the line policy and opens additional check lanes as required to ensure an efficient checkout
  • completes curbside pickup orders by accurately retrieving items from the store, verifying order contents, and ensuring timely delivery to customers’ vehicles from the staging area
  • stocks shelves and displays neatly while following merchandising planograms to maximize sales
  • stockers must be able to arrive to work as early as 5:00am
