Job Description

This role is vital in maintaining smooth in-store operations. A cashier's primary responsibility is to provide friendly and efficient checkout service using the point-of-sale (POS) system, following cash policies, managing scanning concerns, and assisting customers with curbside pickup orders. Stockers, on the other hand, ensure shelves are stocked neatly according to merchandising planograms, often arriving as early as 5:00 a.m. to prepare merchandise for customers. Both roles require attention to detail and adherence to company standards including store zone maintenance, loss prevention policies, and safe working protocols. Employees must be able to perform physical tasks such as lifting products up to 45 pounds, operating cleaning and stocking equipment, and working in varying temperature environments including cooler and freezer areas. The position necessitates both independent work and collaboration with store management to meet operational goals and uphold ALDI’s customer satisfaction standards. Job Requirements
- At least 18 years old required
- high school diploma or equivalent preferred
- prior work experience in a retail environment preferred
- must be able to perform duties with or without reasonable accommodation
- able to push, pull, sit, stand, reach, grasp, twist, bend, and move from one area to another
- able to lift, carry, and place product weighing up to 45 pounds on shelves at various heights, including overhead
- able to operate equipment such as a cash register, electric and manual hand jacks, floor scrubber and cardboard baler
- able to stock product in varying temperatures, including freezer and cooler environments
- able to use glass and multipurpose cleaning products

Job Duties
- Model and fulfill all customer service principles and escalate concerns to store management as necessary
- assist store management in achieving operational efficiency goals
- assist store management in achieving total loss goals
- comply with all established company policies and processes
- support store management in providing a safe working environment by identifying and rectifying hazards, ensuring proper ergonomics, and maintaining equipment in proper working order
- maintain store zones standards and merchandising standards at all times
- adhere to inventory procedures and product handling guidelines
- perform general cleaning tasks to company standards
- properly utilize the point-of-sale (POS) system to accurately scan and process customer purchases and inform store management of scanning concerns or errors
- adhere to cash policies and procedures
- follow the line policy and open additional check lanes as required to ensure an efficient checkout
- complete curbside pickup orders by accurately retrieving items from the store, verifying order contents, and ensuring timely delivery to customers’ vehicles from the staging area
- stock shelves and displays neatly while following merchandising planograms to maximize sales
- stockers must be able to arrive to work as early as 5:00am
