The available roles at ALDI include enthusiastic part-time cashiers and stockers, each critical to supporting store operations and enhancing customer experiences. These positions offer fewer than 30 hours per week with a starting wage of $19.00 per hour, featuring wage increases in subsequent years, highlighting ALDI’s dedication to rewarding employee loyalty and performance. As a cashier, you will be responsible for providing friendly and efficient checkout service, ensuring customers have a smooth and pleasant shopping journey. You'll handle transactions accurately through the point-of-sale system, adhere to all cash policies, and assist with curbside pickup orders, making sure every customer interaction is positive and efficient.

As a stocker, your role will involve maintaining well-stocked and orderly shelves following merchandising standards. This position is essential in ensuring that products are readily available and presented attractively to the customers. Stockers must be prepared to start early, sometimes as early as 5:00 am, and perform physically demanding tasks such as lifting and carrying products, operating various equipment, and working in different temperature environments including freezers and coolers. Both roles require attention to detail, the ability to work independently or as part of a team, and a strong commitment to safety and store standards.

Job Requirements

  • At least 18 years old required
  • high school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • prior work experience in a retail environment preferred

Job Qualifications

  • Ability to provide prompt and courteous customer service
  • ability to operate all store equipment such as cash registers, floor scrubber, cardboard baler, pallet jacks, handheld devices, computers, etc
  • ability to interpret and apply ALDI operating policies and procedures
  • ability to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing
  • ability to perform basic arithmetic such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division
  • ability to follow instructions and pay attention to detail
  • ability to work both independently and with others
  • ability to organize, prioritize and complete assigned tasks to maximize productivity within established timeframes
  • ability to maintain reliable and prompt attendance
  • ability to meet availability requirements

Job Duties

  • Model and fulfill all customer service principles and escalate concerns to store management as necessary
  • assist store management in achieving operational efficiency goals
  • assist store management in achieving total loss goals
  • comply with all established company policies and processes
  • support store management in providing a safe working environment by identifying and rectifying hazards, ensuring proper ergonomics, and maintaining equipment in proper working order
  • maintain store zones standards and merchandising standards at all times
  • adhere to inventory procedures and product handling guidelines
  • perform general cleaning tasks to company standards
  • properly utilize the point-of-sale system to accurately scan and process customer purchases and inform store management of scanning concerns or errors
  • adhere to cash policies and procedures
  • follow the line policy and open additional check lanes as required to ensure an efficient checkout
  • complete curbside pickup orders by accurately retrieving items from the store, verifying order contents, and ensuring timely delivery to customers’ vehicles from the staging area
  • stock shelves and displays neatly while following merchandising planograms to maximize sales
  • stockers must be able to arrive to work as early as 5:00 am
