ALDI is currently seeking enthusiastic part-time cashiers and stockers to join their team. This position provides a dynamic opportunity for individuals who enjoy direct customer interaction, teamwork, and playing a key role in the smooth operations of a supermarket environment. As a part-time employee, the position offers fewer than 30 hours per week with a starting wage of $20.50 per hour. Wage increases are structured over several years, beginning at $21.00 per hour in year two, rising to $21.50 in years three and four, and reaching $22.50 in year five.

The cashier role focuses on delivering friendly and efficient checkout services by utilizing the point-of-sale system appropriately, adhering to cash handling policies, and supporting curbside pickups. Cashiers help ensure a pleasant shopping experience by managing checkout lanes effectively and providing courteous customer service that aligns with ALDI’s standards. This part of the position requires keen attention to detail, strong communication skills, and the ability to operate various store equipment.

Stockers play a vital role in maintaining inventory and presentation standards by stocking shelves and displays neatly in line with merchandising planograms. This role demands early morning availability (starting as early as 5:00 am) and physical stamina, as stockers regularly lift items weighing up to 45 pounds and work in varying temperature conditions, including freezer and cooler environments. Stockers also ensure that the store meets operational efficiency goals by following inventory procedures and maintaining a safe, organized environment.

Job Requirements

  • At least 18 years old required
  • high school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • prior work experience in a retail environment preferred

Job Duties

  • Models and fulfills all customer service principles and escalates concerns to store management as necessary
  • assists store management in achieving operational efficiency goals

  • supports store management in providing a safe working environment by identifying and rectifying hazards, ensuring proper ergonomics, and maintaining equipment in proper working order

  • performs general cleaning tasks to company standards
  • properly utilizes the point-of-sale (POS) system to accurately scan and process customer purchases and informs store management of scanning concerns or errors
  • adheres to cash policies and procedures
  • follows the line policy and opens additional check lanes as required to ensure an efficient checkout
  • completes curbside pickup orders by accurately retrieving items from the store, verifying order contents, and ensuring timely delivery to customers' vehicles from the staging area
  • stocks shelves and displays neatly while following merchandising planograms to maximize sales
  • stockers must be able to arrive to work as early as 5:00 am
  • required to push, pull, sit, stand, reach, grasp, twist, bend, and move from one area to another
  • required to lift, carry, and place product weighing up to 45 pounds on shelves at various heights, including overhead
  • required to operate equipment such as a cash register, electric and manual hand jacks, floor scrubber and cardboard baler
  • required to stock product in varying temperatures, including freezer and cooler environments
  • required to use glass and multipurpose cleaning products
