The Cambria Hotel Portland is currently seeking experienced and friendly Part Time Servers to join their dynamic restaurant team. This role is essential as servers are often the face of the restaurant, providing the primary interactions between the hotel’s culinary offerings and its guests. In this position, the successful candidate will be required to engage with guests in a welcoming and upbeat manner while efficiently taking and delivering food and beverage orders. The role demands quick thinking, a positive attitude, and excellent interpersonal skills to ensure guests receive memorable dining experiences. Servers must have an in-depth knowledge of the menu and be capable of answering any guest queries while ensuring food quality and satisfaction. This part-time role offers flexibility in scheduling, including working nights, weekends, and holidays, catering to individuals seeking a balance between work and other commitments. Job Requirements

  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • High School Diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Previous experience as a server preferred
  • Ability to work 7-day rotational schedule, including nights, weekends and holidays
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills
  • Ability to operate point-of-sale system
  • Ability to work quickly and efficiently
  • Organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to work with a team
  • Ability to maintain personal hygiene

Job Duties

  • Acknowledge and welcome each guest with a smile, eye contact, and a friendly greeting using guest name whenever possible
  • Take food and beverage orders and deliver to the kitchen
  • Deliver food, beverages, condiments, and other requested items
  • Answer questions regarding the menu
  • Maintain knowledge of all menu items and composition
  • Ensure that food is prepared correctly and to the guest's satisfaction
  • return incorrect or improperly cooked items to the kitchen
  • Collect plates and clear table as guests finish their meal
  • Adhere to all applicable Colwen and brand standards for food and beverage service and compliance with state liquor policies
  • Clean designated areas in accordance with defined procedures
  • Ensure sideboards are adequately stocked
  • Set tables to standards, and ensure that all items are clean and in good repair
  • Prepare guest checks and collect payment
  • Assist with other restaurant tasks such as cleaning the dining area and preparing silverware and condiments
  • Perform other related duties as assigned, may be required to perform a variety of duties in multiple departments during a shift
