Job Requirements

  • partial high school education
  • high school diploma or GED equivalent preferred
  • ability to stand and move frequently during shifts
  • ability to lift, carry, and push up to 25 lbs regularly, up to 35 lbs frequently, and up to 50 lbs occasionally
  • strong interpersonal skills
  • ability to read and write English
  • must be able to communicate clearly in English
  • ability to work in temperature extremes
  • ability to perform physical tasks such as bending, lifting, carrying, and reaching
  • willingness to follow safety procedures

Job Qualifications

  • basic mathematic skills
  • strong customer service abilities
  • effective communication skills
  • ability to recognize and report problems to management
  • experience with POS systems preferred
  • ability to work in fast-paced environments
  • ability to stand and move for extended periods

Job Duties

  • greet guests in a polite, positive manner
  • take beverage orders
  • check patrons' identification to ensure age requirements for alcohol consumption
  • answer menu questions and take food orders
  • explain menu items, ingredients, and cooking methods
  • make menu suggestions
  • submit food orders to the kitchen
  • serve guests their entrees in a friendly and efficient manner
  • maintain a pleasant dining experience
  • check on guests periodically
  • attend to guest needs
  • deliver checks and complete transactions with accurate change
  • perform clean-up duties after each meal service
  • prepare and set up for the next meal
  • keep assigned tables clean and properly set up
  • vacuum and arrange tables and chairs
  • stock service areas with supplies such as coffee, food, tableware, and linens
  • report gratuities at the end of each shift according to company policy and law
  • maintain awareness of safety issues and report them to management
