As a Retail Associate at Columbia Sportswear Company, you will play a pivotal role in creating exceptional in-store experiences for customers. This part-time position offers an expected pay range of $18.00 to $19.00 per hour at the start, with potential upward adjustments based on experience and performance, within an overall pay scale of $18.00 to $25.92. You will act as a brand ambassador, utilizing your problem-solving skills and sales abilities to engage customers, answer their questions, and make thoughtful product recommendations. Your responsibilities will extend to maintaining high store standards in visual merchandising, cleanliness, and safety, ensuring the sales floor and other store areas are organized and appealing. Your efficient handling of cash register transactions, including sales, returns, and loyalty program registrations, will contribute to a seamless shopping experience.
Beyond customer interaction, you will assist in managing inventory flows by accurately receiving, replenishing, and processing incoming and outgoing merchandise. Job Requirements
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- two or less years of experience in a position or specialization
- skill operating inventory and point of sales (POS) systems and various other retail software tools
- ability to communicate clearly with others
- availability to work a flexible retail schedule which may change seasonally and in response to location-specific business trends or forecasts
- sixteen years of age or older

Job Duties
- Provide exceptional customer service by responding to consumer questions or issues regarding product features, benefits, and availability
- engage with consumers to understand their needs and preferences such as demonstrate and explain merchandise and make suggestions for suitable options
- maintain store standards for visual merchandising, cleanliness, and safety
- retrieve merchandise from the sales floor, stock room, or other inventory locations
- perform all required cash register transactions including sales, returns, exchanges, and connecting consumers to loyalty programs efficiently and accurately
- contribute to store profitability by receiving, handling, replenishing, and processing incoming and outgoing product flow in the stores accurately and efficiently
