Job Requirements
- minimum high school diploma or equivalent
- previous experience in food and beverage service preferred
- ability to stand and walk for prolonged periods
- ability to lift and carry up to 30 pounds
- flexible availability to work various shifts including weekends and holidays
- adherence to Marriott appearance and grooming standards
- basic knowledge of English
- strong interpersonal and communication skills
- ability to work effectively in a team environment

Job Duties
- follow all Marriott policies and procedures
- comply with the clean as you go policy
- report to work on time and in proper uniform
- report to work complying with all appearance standards
- be aware of work schedule
- follow associate meal schedule
- work as a team
- follow safety procedures and policies to ensure a safe working environment
- honor all work-related requests made by a manager or supervisor to ensure guest satisfaction
- check out with immediate supervisor before leaving the work area
- check station assigned prior to opening for cleanliness and proper setup
- have necessary equipment to work with including tray, pen, bus towel, corkscrew
- do all necessary opening and closing side-work as per side-work schedule
- be aware of daily specials, soups, drinks and 86 items
- be knowledgeable of all menu items, their garnish, contents and preparation methods
- be able to handle station assigned
- be able to operate point of sale equipment
- follow procedures and policies for self-cashiering including responsibility for over/short discrepancies
- follow procedures to take guest's order
- know proper beverage, liquor and wine service
- ensure tables are properly bused throughout the meal
- bus all tables when guests leave the dining room ensuring tabletop dry and non-sticky, candles burning during required hours, sanitation of floor area, cushions and tabletop
- clear and clean ashtrays after each service for smoking tables
- reset table accompaniments according to dining room procedure
- maintain two clean side towels at all times
- follow proper busing procedures with attention to tray height, glassware stacking, placement of silverware, condiment placement, tray balance
- back through doors without kicking
- stop when someone crosses path and be alert
- maintain finer points of service such as replacing water glasses, checking back after serving entrée and maintaining proper posture and limited conversation
- servers never allowed to add tip to check without permission
- requests for days off must be made in writing no less than three days prior
- chewing gum not permitted while on duty
- attend all meetings
- follow waiter/waitress training manual
- perform other duties needed to drive vision, fulfill mission, and abide by organizational values
