At this exciting phase, Thompson Houston is expanding its hospitality team by recruiting highly motivated Restaurant Hosts to join their new destination restaurant concept. This restaurant operates within the premises of the Thompson Houston Hotel and serves as a three-meal dining venue combining indoor and outdoor dining spaces with luxury pool deck offerings and private event areas. Guests enjoy stunning views of downtown Houston alongside exclusive luxury cabanas and impeccable service. This role is crucial in setting the tone for the guest experience at the restaurant and upholding the brand's reputation for premier service.
The Restaurant Host position is ideal for individuals passionate about hospitality and eager to contribute to an elevated dining experience. The role involves welcoming guests with warmth and professionalism, efficiently managing seating arrangements to optimize restaurant flow, and providing menu recommendations that enhance the overall guest dining journey. As a leadership role within the front-of-house team, the Restaurant Host also trains and supports other hosts and greeters, coordinates with restaurant management on seating strategies and waitlist management, and handles guest concerns to ensure satisfaction. Knowledge of the menu, operational practices, and maintaining first-class service standards consistent with Forbes guidelines are paramount.
This position is a full-time employment opportunity with flexible working hours including mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays. It offers a chance for hospitality professionals with prior host or hostess experience to progress their career within a respected hotel brand. Candidates should possess a genuine desire to meet and exceed guest expectations, have strong communication and organizational skills, and hold required certifications such as a valid Texas Food Handler's Card and TABC certification. Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Valid Texas Food Handler’s Card
- TABC certification
- Minimum 1 year experience in food and beverage supervisory role preferred
- Ability to work flexible hours including mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays
- Strong communication skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment

Job Duties
- Welcome guests in a warm and friendly manner, setting the tone for their dining experience
- Manage table assignments and seating arrangements to optimize the dining room flow and guest satisfaction
- Provide guests with menu recommendations and share knowledge about the restaurant’s offerings
- Act as the final point of contact for guests, ensuring all their dining needs are met and their experience is satisfactory
- Lead, train, and support other greeters and hosts/hostesses, ensuring they are equipped to meet service standards
- Coordinate with the restaurant management team to implement efficient seating strategies and manage waitlists
- Address and resolve any guest concerns promptly and professionally
