Job Description

The Ritz-Carlton, part of the prestigious Marriott International portfolio, is a globally recognized luxury hotel brand known for creating exceptional hospitality experiences and unforgettable memories for guests. With over 100 award-winning hotels worldwide, The Ritz-Carlton prides itself on its commitment to excellence, attention to detail, and dedication to the philosophy that each day can be better than the last through its "Gold Standards". This esteemed brand has set the benchmark for luxury service, combining a rich heritage of cultural diversity, talent, and unique experiences that empower associates to deliver memorable guest interactions with compassion, kindness, and professionalism.

The role being offered here is a part-time, non-management position within the Rooms and Guest Services Operations category, based at 900 W Olympic Blvd, Los Angeles, California. This position carries an hourly pay rate starting at $30.83, increasing to $34.25 per hour after 90 days of employment. The successful candidate will primarily serve owners of the residences and their guests by responding to instructions, handling personal requests, and processing various transactions professionally and hospitably. A critical aspect of this role is maintaining the highest levels of hospitality and security for both the property owners and their guests, ensuring a safe, welcoming environment that reflects The Ritz-Carlton's esteemed reputation.

Specific duties include providing information about the property's amenities and the surrounding area, including on-campus establishments, local events, restaurants, and retail stores. The employee will manage and respond promptly to all calls, messages, requests, and inquiries from residents, liaising as necessary with departments such as engineering or housekeeping to address any concerns efficiently. They will also be responsible for keeping company systems updated via platforms like BuildingLink, maintaining rules and regulations concerning residence owners and their guests, and overseeing vendor interactions and insurance requirements on-site.

In addition to operational responsibilities, the candidate must exemplify The Ritz-Carlton's culture by greeting and thanking residents warmly, maintaining a professional appearance that aligns with company standards, and anticipating service needs including assisting disabled persons and adapting to special requests with a focus on safety. Communication skills are critical; the individual must use clear, professional language in both verbal and written forms and ensure telephone etiquette meets the brand’s standards by answering calls within three rings.

Team collaboration is equally important; the employee will nurture positive relationships across departments, support collective goals, and address any interdepartmental issues with responsiveness and understanding. Physical stamina is required as the role involves standing, sitting, or walking for extended periods and may include moving or handling objects up to 10 pounds. Other reasonable duties will be assigned as necessary, requiring flexibility and adaptability.

The ideal candidate will have at least a high school diploma or equivalent and one year of related work experience. No prior supervisory experience or certifications are required for this non-management role. Marriott International prioritizes equal employment opportunity, inclusivity, and diversity, embracing differences in backgrounds and experiences, and ensuring a work environment free from discrimination based on disability, veteran status, or other protected characteristics. The organization also complies with all applicable laws regarding the employment of individuals with criminal histories.

By joining The Ritz-Carlton team, the employee contributes to an environment dedicated to exceptional luxury hospitality, where personal growth, pride in workmanship, and empowerment to provide outstanding guest services are foundational. As part of Marriott International's global network, this position offers the chance to develop one’s professional skills within a world-class brand renowned for unparalleled service and guest satisfaction.

If you are passionate about delivering excellence, caring for guests with kindness, and working within a supportive, collaborative team, this opportunity at The Ritz-Carlton in Los Angeles is an excellent fit to begin or advance your career in luxury hospitality.
