Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • One year of receptionist or general office experience preferred
  • English fluency
  • Basic computer skills including Microsoft 365 applications
  • Proficiency using office equipment such as phones, copiers, and printers
  • Ability to sit for extended periods and perform repetitive tasks
  • Ability to occasionally lift up to 20 pounds
  • Work performed in a parish office environment during regular business hours
  • Availability for occasional weekend or evening work depending on parish events
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and discretion

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • One year of receptionist or general office experience preferred
  • English fluency
  • Basic data entry and office software proficiency including Microsoft 365
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Professional and courteous interpersonal skills
  • Strong attention to detail and organization
  • Ability to multitask and handle interruptions
  • Discretion and ability to maintain confidentiality

Job Duties

  • Answer and direct phone calls in a polite and friendly manner
  • Welcome visitors, respond to visitor inquiries, and assist them appropriately
  • Provide general information and assistance to parishioners and the public
  • Distribute mail and manage incoming/outgoing correspondence
  • Prepare all certificates for Baptism, Confirmation, First Holy Communion, and Marriage
  • Schedule Baptism, Marriage, and Funeral Masses
  • Maintain office supplies and order as necessary
  • Keep parish records, calendars, and directories up to date
  • Assist in preparing weekly bulletins, reports, and mailings
  • Provide administrative support to clergy, ministry coordinators, and staff
  • Assist in the upkeep of calendar and appointments
  • Develop electronic presentations in PowerPoint and other media
  • Ensure cleanliness and orderliness in the reception area daily
  • Assist with Mass Intention requests by entering them into the designated spreadsheet for weekday and weekend Masses
