LifeSouth Community Blood Centers is a reputable non-profit organization dedicated to providing a safe and reliable blood supply to over 150 hospitals across Alabama, Florida, Georgia, and Tennessee. Established as a community-focused blood bank, LifeSouth operates more than 45 donor centers, 55 bloodmobiles, and conducts approximately 2,000 blood drives per month. The Receptionist role in Gainesville, FL, is a part-time position integral to LifeSouth’s front-line services. The receptionist will be responsible for registering blood donors and providing superior customer service to all visitors, setting the tone for a positive and welcoming donor experience. This role requires strong communication skills and attention to detail to accurately collect and enter donor demographic information and handle incoming calls efficiently. The receptionist also plays a key role in resolving registration discrepancies and assisting visitors by directing them appropriately within the facility.
Starting salary for this position ranges from $14.50 to $15.95 per hour, reflecting the importance of this role in supporting daily operations and donor relations. The job requires a commitment to organizational values and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team. Alongside technical skills like knowledge of Microsoft Office applications and records management, the ideal candidate must demonstrate excellent customer service capabilities and the flexibility to manage multiple tasks efficiently. A criminal background check and drug screening are required as part of the hiring process.

Job Requirements
- High school diploma or GED
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Ability to organize and manage multiple assignments efficiently
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint
- Ability to understand and follow moderately complex oral and written instructions
- One to three months of related experience preferred
- Prior experience in records management, telephone systems, data entry, and customer service preferred
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Ability to work both independently and as a team member
- Ability to organize and complete multiple assignments with precision and quick turnaround
- Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint
- Ability to follow moderately complex oral and written instructions
- One to three months of related experience preferred
- Experience with records management, business telephone systems, data entry and customer service preferred
Job Duties
- Answer incoming telephone calls and transfer calls to the appropriate extension or relay messages
- Collect demographic information from donors and enter data into the computer system according to approved guidelines, print Single Donation Records (SDRs) and log donation information on donor registers
- Review donor record status reports and resolve registration discrepancies according to established guidelines
- Provide the highest level of customer service towards internal and external customers
- Greet donors and visitors and direct them to the appropriate area in the facility
