Job Description

Right At School is a dedicated organization providing before and after school extended day programs to local school districts. The role of Program Manager at Right At School is a pivotal position that directly contributes to the organization's mission and vision. With a pay rate ranging from $26 to $28 per hour (based on education and experience), this full-time role operates Monday through Friday from 12:30 pm to 6:00 pm with additional summer camp opportunities starting in June and potential continuation into the 2026-2027 school year. The Program Manager is responsible for ensuring program safety, joy, operational efficiency, and compliance while fostering a positive team environment. This leader supports a team of staff members, coaching them to deliver exemplary service and maintain high standards in attendance protocols, behavior policies, and safety procedures.

The Program Manager acts as a key communicator engaging with children, families, school partners, and team members, maintaining transparent communication and building trust. They keep detailed documentation for student attendance and program compliance, implement daily routines consisting of activities, fitness, and curriculum, and regularly collaborate with the Area Manager to meet program goals and adapt processes as necessary. Ideal candidates will have experience managing competing priorities, understanding the unique needs of children including those with special needs, and applying strong communication and organizational skills. Familiarity or willingness to learn Google technology software is also valued. The role fulfills state-specific requirements including background checks, mandated reporter training, CPR and First Aid certification, and clearance of tuberculosis tests.

Job Requirements

  • Ability to meet state-specific requirements
  • LIVE Scan fingerprint background check
  • Mandated Reporter training
  • 18 plus years of age
  • Proof of High School diploma or GED required
  • First Aid and CPR-in-person EMSA 16 Hour Prevention Health certification required or willingness to acquire
  • Cleared tuberculosis test
  • 48 units at an institution of higher learning or obtain an Associate's or higher degree or pass the District's Instructional Assistant written examination

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED completed
  • Experience working with children including knowledge of unique and special needs
  • Coursework or training in child development or related field
  • Strong oral, written, and visual communication skills with adults and children
  • Ability to model professional standards when dealing with students, parents, staff, and community
  • Familiarity with Google technology software or willingness to learn
  • Experience managing competing priorities and delivering quality service to stakeholders

Job Duties

  • Support operational efficiency by keeping site documents and licensing standards up to date
  • Outline attendance protocols, behavior policies, and safety procedures ensuring program tasks are completed effectively
  • Continually coach and foster respectful relationships among staff to maintain team cohesion and productivity
  • Consistently support and report on safety protocols to ensure participant well-being and mitigate risks
  • Engage with families, client partners, peers, and children to support effective communication and relationship building
  • Maintain accurate records for student check-ins and check-outs following company policy
  • Implement daily activities, fitness fun, and curriculum to provide a safe and engaging environment
  • Communicate and collaborate regularly with the Area Manager to support program goals and implement changes
