Job Description

Right At School is a distinguished provider of before and after school programs that operate in collaboration with local school districts. The company specializes in extending the school day with enriching activities that are thoughtfully disguised as play, aimed at fostering a love of learning in children. With a mission grounded in inspiring a love of learning, supporting the needs of schools, and providing peace of mind to families, Right At School stands out as a leader in educational enrichment and child care services. The organization's vision is expansive—they aim to make their affordable, high-quality programs accessible to a broad community of students, families, and schools. They emphasize creating safe environments where children can explore, learn, and grow in meaningful ways.

The role of a Program Manager at Right At School is pivotal in driving this mission forward. Program Managers are entrusted with the responsibility of overseeing the daily operations of extended day programs, ensuring that safety, joy, and educational enrichment remain at the forefront. This role requires strong leadership, as Program Managers act as role models who uphold and enforce safety standards and operational protocols. Their leadership ensures that all team members understand their roles clearly and execute them efficiently, maintaining a productive and cohesive work environment.

Program Managers engage directly with children, families, and staff, maintaining effective lines of communication to foster trust and transparency. They are responsible for implementing daily curricula, fitness activities, and enrichment programs that align with the organization's goals. Beyond curriculum delivery, they oversee attendance and behavior policies, safety procedures, and ensure that documentation, such as check-in and check-out records, is meticulously maintained.

This position operates on a schedule that includes both before-school hours (5:45 AM to around 10 AM depending on the day) and after-school hours (3 PM to 6 PM), which denotes a full-day engagement with the program's activities. The pay rate for Program Managers ranges from $23 to $25 per hour, dependent on education and experience, reflecting the value placed on qualified and capable leaders.

The ideal candidate for this role brings experience in managing competing priorities while delivering exceptional service to all stakeholders. A background in working with children, including those with unique or special needs, is highly valued. Candidates should have completed a minimum of 12 college-level credits (100 level or above) and ideally have coursework or training in child development or a related field. Strong communication skills—oral, written, and visual—are essential, along with the ability to model professionalism in all interactions with students, parents, staff, and community members. Familiarity with Google technology or an openness to learning new tech tools is desirable.

The company also expects candidates to meet specific Washington state requirements, such as First Aid and CPR certification (in-person), a cleared tuberculosis test, proof of MMR vaccination, a food handler's card, being 18 years or older, and passing a background check with fingerprinting. Importantly, the company offers toll reimbursement for employees in the Peninsula School District, illustrating its commitment to supporting its team members' logistical needs.

Right At School provides a comprehensive benefits package that includes medical, dental, and vision insurance; pet health benefits; supplemental insurance for physical wellness; a 401(k) plan with company match; legal and identity theft protection; an Employee Assistance Program; and free or discounted enrollment in their programs for team members' children. Additional perks include free professional memberships, ticket discounts, and cell phone discounts, all contributing to a supportive and enriching work environment.

Joining Right At School means becoming part of a mission-driven team committed to making a positive difference in children’s lives and their communities. The Program Manager role is not only about managing programs but about inspiring the next generation through safe, engaging, and joy-filled learning experiences that support the whole child.
