Job Description

The Glen is a renowned Life Plan Community with a rich history spanning over 125 years, dedicated to providing exceptional living experiences for its residents. As an esteemed organization, The Glen prides itself on offering a residential environment that emphasizes a "resident directed" philosophy. This means that every individual’s choices, dignity, and pursuit of a purposeful life are deeply respected and upheld. The Glen fosters a strong sense of community not only among its residents but also between team members and residents, creating meaningful relationships that enhance the overall well-being and happiness of everyone involved. With a management team and Board of Directors dedicated to maintaining The Glen's legacy while embracing innovation, the community remains a vital part of the local area, setting standards within the life care industry.

The Glen is currently seeking a motivated and experienced Private Dining Room Attendant to join their Culinary Team on an on-call PRN basis at the new Independent Living community. This role is essential in maintaining a quality dining experience tailored specifically for residents, ensuring all service is provided under sanitary conditions in alignment with the community’s strict dietary policies and procedures. Shifts are primarily scheduled in the evenings from 2:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M., three to four nights a week, including Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Saturdays, with some flexibility offered. The Private Dining Room Attendant plays a vital role in delivering excellent customer service through food and beverage presentation while also assisting with various dining room tasks. This position serves as a critical link between the kitchen and residents, ensuring that every individual’s dining preferences and dietary needs are met with care and professionalism.

The role involves not only standard service responsibilities such as greeting guests, taking orders accurately using Point-of-Sale (POS) technology, informing guests about menu specials, and suggesting food and beverage pairings but also fostering a welcoming atmosphere that respects the community’s values. Attendants are expected to monitor guest satisfaction attentively, manage dining room cleanliness, and assist with side station stock levels. The position may also require stepping in for absent staff and providing support in diverse operational areas like handling take-out orders and completing cash transactions. Physical demands include working in a fast-paced environment and the ability to lift or move items weighing up to 50 pounds, which reflects the dynamic nature of the role. The Glen offers competitive pay rates and a 403(b) retirement plan as part of its benefits package, valuing the commitment and expertise of its team members.
