The role of Prep Cook at American Dining Creations is essential in supporting the culinary team to deliver an optimal dining experience to guests. This part-time position is based in Cleveland, Ohio, with a schedule of Monday through Friday from 11:30 AM to 3:30 PM, avoiding nights and weekends. The role pays $18 per hour and requires the Prep Cook to prepare meal ingredients, simple dishes, condiments, and other related items as part of daily kitchen operations. As a pivotal member of the culinary staff, the Prep Cook serves as a reliable resource who ensures the kitchen runs smoothly and food preparation meets the company’s high standards. Responsibilities include washing and chopping vegetables, cutting meat, mixing and preparing condiments, undertaking basic cooking duties such as reducing sauces and parboiling foods, and following food safety and sanitation standards diligently. The Prep Cook also helps with inventory management by restocking supplies, unloading and inspecting ingredients, and maintaining cleanliness and orderliness in the kitchen by washing dishes and sanitizing surfaces. Good communication skills and professionalism are crucial, along with efficiency and organizational skills in a fast-paced environment. The position requires physical activity including lifting up to 50 pounds, bending, walking, climbing stairs, and standing for the duration of shifts. Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Previous experience in food preparation or related role preferred

  • Capacity to stand for long periods and perform physical tasks including bending, walking, and climbing stairs
  • Strong communication skills
  • Ability to work part-time Monday through Friday 11:30 AM to 3:30 PM
  • Must be punctual and reliable

Job Duties

  • Follow standards to prepare meal ingredients and simple dishes as directed by management or other staff
  • Prepare cooking ingredients by washing and chopping vegetables, cutting meat, and other meal prep
  • Mix or prepare condiments, dressings, and sauces
  • Undertake basic cooking duties, such as reducing sauces and parboiling food
  • Store foods in designated areas following standard wrapping, dating, food safety, and rotation procedures
  • Adhere to all state and local food production, safety, and sanitation regulations
  • Keep supplies replenished, restock coolers, and take inventory as directed
  • Assist with unloading, inspection, and proper storage of raw ingredients and supplies
  • Maintain a clean and orderly kitchen by washing dishes, sanitizing surfaces, and taking out trash
  • Listen well and communicate in a professional and friendly manner
  • Be efficient and organized
  • May be assigned other duties and responsibilities as needed
