The Cook/Pastry Chef will be responsible for preparing a wide variety of food items including desserts, eggs, meats, seafood, poultry, vegetables, sauces, stocks, and breads. Job Duties
- Promote, work, and act in a manner consistent with the mission of Yolked Kitchen
- refer to Daily Prep List at the start of each shift for assigned duties
- prepare ingredients and handle kitchen equipment
- understand and comply with standard portion sizes, cooking methods, quality standards, and kitchen rules, policies, and procedures
- clean and sanitize work-station area including tables, shelves, walls, grills, broilers, fryers, and other kitchen equipment
- store food in designated containers and storage areas to prevent spoilage
- prepare a variety of foods according to customer orders or supervisors' instructions
- take and record the temperature of food and storage areas
- wash, peel, and cut various foods to prepare for cooking or serving
- portion according to standard recipe specifications and prepare food for service to guests
- receive and store food supplies and utensils in storage areas
- assist kitchen staff and provide needed items
- promptly inform supervisors of equipment issues or low supplies
- complete opening and closing checklists
- attend scheduled meetings and offer suggestions for improvement
- coordinate with employees to meet guest needs and support restaurant operations
- operate dishwashing machines
- perform other related duties as assigned
