This role is an opportunity to join a passionate team dedicated to culinary excellence. The position is responsible for maintaining, setting up, producing, and controlling the quality of all meat, fish, fowl, and other food items prepared at the frontline station. Successful candidates will demonstrate expertise in broiling and sautéing food items in line with established recipes and guest specifications. This food production position requires a sharp eye for quality, a focus on portion control, and a commitment to adhering to health and safety standards. The candidate will be instrumental in ensuring that all prepared products meet the highest standards of freshness and presentation. Additionally, the role requires maintaining cleanliness and proper functioning of refrigeration, cooking equipment, and storage areas in compliance with health regulations. Operating within a 24/7 hotel environment, the role demands flexibility in shift schedules including days, starting times, and varied hours throughout the week. Job Requirements

  • Hold a current Food Handler Card
  • have a minimum of three years cooking experience preferred
  • possess basic knowledge of food and beverage preparations, service standards, guest relations and etiquette
  • demonstrate good working knowledge of broiler and sauté cooking
  • understand and adhere to accepted sanitation standards
  • be able to operate kitchen equipment like stoves, ovens, broilers, slicers, steamers, kettles
  • have basic mathematical skills to understand recipes and portion sizes
  • be proficient in basic English for communication
  • ability to comprehend and apply written instructions
  • ability to operate beverage equipment
  • have the physical ability to lift and move up to 100 pounds
  • have manual dexterity to use kitchen tools and equipment
  • be able to work under varying temperature conditions and in confined spaces
  • able to perform physical activities such as twisting, bending, stooping, etc.

Job Qualifications

  • possess good working knowledge of broiler and sauté cooking fundamentals
  • understand accepted sanitation standards
  • be familiar with operating kitchen equipment such as stoves, ovens, broilers, slicers, steamers, kettles
  • have basic math skills needed to understand recipes, measurements, requisition amounts, and portion sizes
  • demonstrate basic English language skills to comprehend team member inquiries and communicate instructions
  • ability to comprehend and apply written product labeling instructions
  • ability to operate beverage equipment such as coffee makers

Job Duties

  • Prepare daily preparation lists for production
  • read and use math skills to follow recipes
  • prepare all broiled and sautéed food items according to standard recipes and guest specifications
  • visually inspect, select, and use only highest quality food items
  • check and control proper storage and portion control of products
  • maintain cleanliness and working condition of refrigeration, equipment, and storage areas
  • maintain all logs related to cooling, heating, and temperature
  • adhere to company policies and health and safety regulations
  • follow safety and security procedures and report unsafe conditions
  • maintain neat and clean personal appearance
  • assist other kitchen personnel as needed
  • perform any related duties requested by management
