The role being offered is a part-time Porter position classified as non-exempt, with eligibility to work up to 25 hours per week. The hourly rate for this position is $19.29. The Porter plays a critical role in maintaining the cleanliness, functionality, and welcoming appearance of DHA properties. This position provides essential site support by performing routine maintenance duties and groundskeeping functions. In addition to these duties, the Porter acts as a frontline representative by greeting and assisting DHA residents and staff, ensuring that common areas are kept in top condition according to DHA's high standards.

The Porter is responsible for a variety of tasks including general trash collection and removal, vacuuming hallways and common areas, cleaning windows, and performing janitorial duties. Maintenance of supply inventory under supervision is also part of the role, along with referring resident requests, concerns, and maintenance issues to the appropriate staff with a focus on delivering excellent customer service. The position requires regular upkeep of tools and equipment to ensure they are in optimal working condition and safely stored when not in use. Teamwork is an important aspect as the Porter actively assists other technical maintenance staff to carry out assigned tasks efficiently.

Physical requirements of the role include the ability to lift up to 50 pounds and the capability to stand for extended periods. Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • A combination of appropriate education and experience may be substituted for the minimum education and experience requirements
  • Previous cleaning or janitorial experience preferred
  • Previous knowledge of cleaning procedures, chemicals and equipment preferred
  • Valid Colorado driver license and an acceptable driving record
