The role of Porter, based in West Sacramento, CA, is a vital position within the Planned Companies team, focusing on maintaining cleanliness and safety in a variety of settings. This is a part-time position with a total of 22 working hours per week, scheduled from 7am to 11am on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday, and 7am to 12pm on Monday and Friday. The hourly pay rate for this role is $21, reflecting the company’s dedication to fair compensation for quality work.

As a Porter at Planned Companies, you will be responsible for performing a range of cleaning and maintenance duties that ensure common areas and bathrooms are hygienic and presentable. Your work impacts the daily experiences of all building occupants, making the position both important and impactful. You will be tasked with vacuuming, sweeping, mopping, stripping, buffing, and waxing floors, as well as dusting ceilings, light fixtures, countertops, and furniture. Additional duties include scrubbing and sanitizing bathroom and kitchen fixtures, emptying trash receptacles, washing windows, and requesting necessary cleaning supplies. Communication with building management and collaboration on other projects are also key components of this job.

This position requires a keen eye for detail, strong work ethic, and a courteous approach towards others. Candidates should be comfortable standing for extended periods and capable of lifting heavy objects up to 50 pounds. Previous experience using cleaning products and equipment for floors and carpets is preferred, along with the ability to work independently and as part of a team. Strong verbal communication and report-writing skills are important to accurately convey maintenance concerns and progress.
