Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum two years experience in building cleaning
  • Ability to perform minor repairs such as painting and faucet repair
  • Capable of handling cleaning equipment and supplies
  • Availability to work weekends from 12pm to 8pm
  • Willingness to travel up to 25 percent
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and adhere to policies

Job Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Minimum two years experience in building cleaning required
  • General building maintenance skills desirable

Job Duties

  • Sweep and mop all floors, offices, hallways, lounge, laundry room, community kitchen, and staircases on a daily basis
  • Dust, sweep and mop all bathrooms, clean sinks and toilets, ensure adequate supply of paper products are available in bathrooms
  • Dust furniture and all windowsills in common and staff areas
  • Clean compactor, prepare and take out garbage three times weekly, maintain compactor and compactor room in clean and working order
  • Clean laundry machines and dryers
  • Maintain outside of facility by sweeping and hosing down front end of building and yard, shovel and clean snow as necessary, maintain safe entrance
  • Perform minor repairs and touch-ups including hanging pictures and bulletin boards, painting, light bulb replacement, faucet repair, stripping floors and re-waxing
  • Assist with cleaning resident apartments including sweeping, mopping, wiping down counters and appliances, scrubbing toilets and showers, removing rubbish and garbage
  • Assist with preparations for extermination services including bed bug treatment preparations
  • Clean and prepare vacant apartments for occupancy
  • Escort outside maintenance vendors performing work in building
  • Report any damage or incidents to Program Director
  • Receive, stock, and maintain an inventory of residence supplies, distribute provisional supplies to residents as needed
  • Prepare and submit maintenance supply requisition to Program Director
  • Meet with Program Director weekly for supervision
  • Maintain a cordial, professional relationship with residents
  • Handle confidential information in accordance with Federal and New York State law and regulations
  • Adhere to personnel and residential policies and procedures as outlined in the PCMH Personnel Policies and Procedures Manual and the Residential Policies and Procedures Manual
  • Perform other duties consistent with goals and objectives of the program as directed by Program Director
