The Concierge, Senior works across multiple facets of the hospital's daily functions. Core duties include greeting and assisting patients and families with directions and escorting, ensuring they feel welcomed and informed while maintaining patient confidentiality and respect. The role extends into environmental services, where cleanliness and organization of patient rooms and public areas are maintained to hospital standards. In dietary services, the concierge assembles and delivers meals tailored to patients' prescribed diets, strictly adhering to food safety and sanitary guidelines.
Additionally, transportation services form a critical part of the role, involving the safe transfer of patients, equipment, and lab specimens throughout the hospital using prescribed vehicles. The concierge also manages supply and equipment logistics, maintaining inventory, monitoring expiration dates, and coordinating with the supply chain for unit-specific needs. This ensures that all equipment and supplies are readily available and in optimal condition.
Administrative support is another essential function. The concierge coordinates patient tests and procedures, manages communication via phones and other devices, assists in scheduling and reporting, and ensures accurate documentation within electronic health records. Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Six months of relevant experience
- Completion of Act 34 clearance
- Ability to follow instructions
- Demonstrated competency in concierge duties
- Internal promotion subject to business unit assessment
- Commitment to annual departmental contribution
Job Qualifications
- Desire and compassion to provide exceptional patient experience
- High school diploma or one year of previous job experience in lieu of diploma
- Six months experience as a Patient & Family Concierge or equivalent
- Demonstrated competency in all Patient & Family Concierge responsibilities
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
- Completion of annual contributions such as committee participation or onboarding others
Job Duties
- Greet patients and families warmly providing directions and escort assistance
- Clean and organize assigned areas including patient rooms and public spaces
- Assemble and serve meals following dietary orders and maintain food safety
- Transport patients and equipment safely between hospital units
- Manage supplies and equipment inventory and ensure proper stocking
- Provide administrative support including scheduling, chart management, and coordination of patient tests
- Monitor telehealth consult carts and assist with telemedicine visits
