Job Description

The Anaheim Convention Center (ACC), owned and operated by the City of Anaheim, is the largest exhibit facility on the West Coast and a premier destination for major events. Established in 1967, the ACC has grown significantly over the decades to encompass 53 acres and 1.8 million square feet of versatile function space, including a notable expansion completed in the fall of 2017 which added 200,000 square feet of flexible meeting space. This vast convention center hosts numerous high-profile, well-attended events such as the Winter NAMM Show, Disney's D23 Expo, VidCon, and many others, playing a pivotal role in the region's event and tourism industries.

As a City-operated venue, the Anaheim Convention Center is committed to delivering exceptional experiences for its diverse visitors and event attendees. To support its operations, the ACC is actively seeking enthusiastic, customer-service-oriented individuals for the role of Part-Time Parking Lot Attendant on the Parking Division team. This position is essential in ensuring smooth vehicle traffic management and parking operations during various events held throughout the year.

The Part-Time Parking Lot Attendant position is a year-round, part-time role that averages approximately 20 hours per week. It does not guarantee a minimum number of hours, requiring flexible availability, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays. Working under minimal supervision from the Parking Lot Captain, attendants are responsible for directing vehicles to designated parking spots, managing traffic flow efficiently, and providing courteous assistance to guests as they arrive at the center. These duties are vital for maintaining a safe and welcoming parking environment and enhancing the overall guest experience.

In addition to welcoming and directing guests, Part-Time Parking Lot Attendants answer questions related to parking procedures and event information, report unauthorized vehicles in restricted areas, and perform other related duties as required. The role demands physical endurance as attendants stand and walk for extended periods, often working outdoors in various weather conditions including exposure to grease, oil, smoke, fumes, and gases. Therefore, candidates must be prepared for these environmental factors and able to maintain professionalism under such circumstances.

This role is ideal for individuals who enjoy engaging with the public, have a keen attention to detail, and possess the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team. Being part of the ACC’s parking team offers the opportunity to contribute to the successful execution of some of the largest and most recognizable events on the West Coast, ensuring that visitors receive outstanding service from the moment they arrive.

Candidates interested in this position should note the application deadline is Thursday, July 2, 2026, at 11:59 PM or once 75 applications have been received, whichever occurs first. The selection process involves an in-person oral interview. Successful applicants must also pass a reference and background check, a post-offer medical examination including drug and alcohol screening, and submit documentation verifying identity and work authorization, including a Social Security Card for payroll processing.

The City of Anaheim values an inclusive, equal opportunity employment culture and offers a range of benefits for eligible part-time employees and their dependents. These benefits vary based on bargaining unit, family size, hire date, and hours worked. Among these benefits, participation in retirement programs through the California Public Employees Retirement System (CalPERS) or a city 457 plan for non-CalPERS eligible employees is notable. Further information about benefits and retirement plans can be accessed through the City of Anaheim's official portals.

In summary, joining the Anaheim Convention Center as a Part-Time Parking Lot Attendant presents a unique opportunity to work for a prominent, dynamic facility that serves thousands of guests and industry professionals each year. It offers a meaningful role that combines customer service with operational support in a fast-paced and highly regarded venue environment.
