Job Description

Our company is a dedicated IT consulting firm that prides itself on the motto "You Request. We Respond. It Gets Done." This motto, originally inspired and coined by our satisfied customers, is at the core of everything we do. We are passionate about delivering high-quality, professional, and efficient technology services tailored specifically to meet the unique needs of small to medium-sized businesses. Our strength lies in combining cutting-edge technology with superior customer service to ensure our clients experience measurable growth and enhanced operational efficiency.

We believe technology, when used decisively and with care, transforms ideas and visions into practical, tangible solutions that drive business success. Our mission is to provide highly customized, groundbreaking technology solutions that support and enhance our customers’ business objectives. From conceptual vision to design, development, and implementation, we are committed to being a responsive partner who consistently "Gets It Done."

The role of the Onsite IT Consultant is central to this mission. This position provides a vital bridge between the consulting and technical aspects of IT service delivery. Although it is part-time and does not guarantee consistent monthly income, the role offers recurring assignments every other week at specific client sites within the metro area. Compensation is competitive at $30 per hour, which includes pay during travel to customer sites, ensuring you are rewarded for your time and expertise.

As an Onsite IT Consultant, you will support small to medium-sized businesses by troubleshooting hardware and software issues, resolving network problems, and implementing new technology solutions under the guidance of our remote support personnel. You will develop strong consultative relationships with clients, responding to their requests flexibly and professionally. We value communication and documentation, so you will be responsible for maintaining clear and consistent communication and detailed records of your work.

While the frequency of job requests varies depending on your location—with busier areas seeing more consistent demand and smaller markets experiencing fewer requests—the position allows for a flexible engagement based on your availability. Requests typically occur during standard business hours, with occasional after-hours opportunities. There is no penalty for unavailability, making this a perfect role for those seeking supplemental income with a flexible schedule.

This role requires technical proficiency and consultative skills, including the ability to diagnose and repair issues on desktops and servers, experience with Windows operating systems and server environments, and knowledge of network infrastructure including switches, routers, and TCP/IP configurations. Certifications such as A+, MCSE, MCTS, MCITP, CNE, or CCNA are valued but not mandatory. Importantly, candidates must live in close proximity to the metro area for which they apply to provide timely onsite support.

Overall, this role provides a unique opportunity to work in a dynamic, client-focused environment where your technical expertise and problem-solving skills directly contribute to the success of various businesses. You will operate on the road, gaining hands-on experience with diverse technology environments while helping clients optimize their IT operations. This position is ideal for individuals who enjoy a combination of technical work and customer interaction, appreciate flexibility, and value working for a company that truly lives by its motto.
