Job Description
Off the Grid is a dynamic and innovative company that brings people together through food across the San Francisco Bay Area. Operating as a leader in the hospitality and event production industry, Off the Grid specializes in creating memorable culinary experiences by collaborating with the best independent vendors and local food artisans. The company is renowned for its commitment to quality, diversity, and community engagement, making it a staple in the Bay Area food scene. With a focus on inclusivity and diversity, Off the Grid prides itself on fostering a workplace that reflects the vibrant communities it serves. The company values hospitality, genuine passion for food, and a collaborative work environment.
The role of Onsite Event Producer is crucial to Off the Grid's mission to ensure every event is flawlessly executed and that guests experience seamless service and hospitality. This part-time position, with flexible scheduling and shifts up to 30 hours per week during peak times, primarily involves managing corporate dinners, brand activations, conferences, and private occasions. Compensation for this role ranges from $25 to $35 per hour based on experience. The Onsite Event Producer serves as the vital link between the company, vendors, and clients, acting as the face of Off the Grid during events.
Before each event, the Onsite Event Producer collaborates closely with Catering Event Producers to be fully briefed on all event details, including venue layouts, staffing plans, and client expectations. This position requires multifaceted skills; many successful candidates also have diverse interests such as bartending, teaching, or freelancing, showing that Off the Grid embraces individuals with rich and varied professional backgrounds.
On the day of the event, the Onsite Event Producer takes command, directing vendors, managing service flow efficiently, and maintaining constant communication with clients, venue contacts, and inspectors. The ability to stay composed under pressure and view challenges as opportunities rather than crises is essential. Attention to detail and hospitality-first leadership, which emphasizes warmth and guest experience alongside logistics, define success in this role.
Post-event, the Onsite Event Producer contributes to the continuous improvement of Off the Grid’s services by debriefing with the team and offering insightful observations. This role offers a unique opportunity for those passionate about food and events to work with a community of top independent vendors in the Bay Area while developing a career path towards full-time Event Producer positions within the company. This position requires reliable transportation within the Bay Area and availability during evenings and weekends to accommodate event schedules.
Off the Grid is deeply invested in supporting hospitality professionals who thrive in dynamic, fast-paced environments and who have a genuine enthusiasm for food culture and community impact. Through inclusive hiring practices and meaningful career development, Off the Grid stands out as a premier employer for those seeking growth and impact within the food and event production spaces.
