Job Description
Off the Grid is a renowned food and events company dedicated to bringing people together across the Bay Area through exceptional culinary experiences. Known for curating diverse and inclusive food markets, pop-ups, and private events that celebrate independent food vendors, Off the Grid plays a vital role in the local food ecosystem. This company has built a strong reputation by connecting communities with vibrant food culture in an approachable and innovative way. Their passion for food goes beyond just the culinary aspect; it’s about creating memorable moments where people can socialize, celebrate, and enjoy high-quality food in unique settings. As a Bay Area-based organization, Off the Grid values diversity, community, and excellence, which is reflected in every event they produce.
The Onsite Event Producer role at Off the Grid is a dynamic and crucial position designed for individuals who excel at managing live events with a hospitality-first mindset. This is a part-time role offering up to 30 hours per week during peak times, primarily during evenings and weekends, paying between $25 and $35 per hour based on experience. The Onsite Event Producer acts as the face of Off the Grid at various events such as corporate dinners, brand activations, conferences, and private occasions, ensuring a flawless execution of each event. The role involves coordinating closely with Catering Event Producers to be thoroughly briefed on every detail regarding the venue, layout, staffing plan, and client expectations prior to the event.
On event day, the Onsite Event Producer takes command on the ground by directing vendors, managing service flow, and maintaining constant communication with clients, venue contacts, and inspectors, often juggling multiple responsibilities simultaneously with calm and professionalism. Post-event, the producer conducts debriefing sessions with the team, offering insightful observations that contribute to continuous improvements in how Off the Grid delivers exceptional event experiences. This position is ideal for energetic, multitasking individuals who are passionate about hospitality and food, and who thrive under pressure while maintaining warmth and grace.
Candidates who tend to balance multiple roles—such as bartending, teaching, or freelancing alongside event producing—will find this job especially suitable. Moreover, this role provides flexible scheduling without rigid weekly minimums, access to Off the Grid’s extensive vendor community, and opportunities to immerse oneself in the Bay Area’s vibrant food scene. Strong performers have a genuine pathway to advancing into full-time Event Producer roles, making this an excellent starting point for career growth within the hospitality and events industry. Off the Grid is committed to fostering an inclusive workforce that reflects the diversity of the communities it serves, making this an equal opportunity employer poised to welcome talent from all backgrounds.
