Job Description
RiverWoods Manchester is part of the RiverWoods Group, Northern New England's largest family of Continuing Care Retirement Communities (CCRCs). Established in 1994, RiverWoods has built a strong reputation for providing exceptional care and a vibrant community experience to older adults. The organization is deeply committed to the philosophy of making things better for people every day. This means fostering an environment where aging is viewed as an opportunity to continue leading a productive and rewarding life, rather than a limitation. RiverWoods takes pride in its welcoming atmosphere, bright and attractive community spaces, and a culture focused on meaningful contributions to residents' quality of life.
RiverWoods Manchester is currently hiring a Cook to join their dedicated Dining team. Unlike traditional fast-paced restaurant settings, this role offers a more structured and steady schedule, making it ideal for individuals seeking to avoid late-night shifts. The position requires working three shifts per week mid-week: Tuesdays and Thursdays from 11am to 7:30pm, and Fridays from 8am to 4pm. This schedule allows for a predictable routine while still playing a crucial role in the overall dining experience of residents.
The Cook will be responsible for preparing a variety of hot and cold food items according to standardized recipes and production sheets, ensuring consistent quality and satisfaction for residents and staff alike. The role emphasizes working with whole food items, maintaining a safe and sanitary workspace, and demonstrating culinary versatility by operating across different kitchen stations. Collaboration is key, as the Cook will meet daily with the Sous Chef or Director of Culinary Operations to review production counts, culinary techniques, and meal service timing. Attendance at training sessions is also an essential part of the role, ensuring that skills and sanitation standards remain at the highest levels.
RiverWoods Manchester values the contributions of each team member and offers competitive pay that reflects experience and skill level. Additional benefits include wellness programs, on-site fitness opportunities, and an innovative 'Get Paid Daily' program through partnership with DailyPay, allowing employees to receive wages promptly after their shifts. An employee meal program further supports team members in maintaining energy and focus throughout their workday.
This position does not require a resume for application, emphasizing accessibility. Interested candidates can reach out via phone or email for application assistance. Overall, working as a Cook at RiverWoods Manchester offers an opportunity to join a respected community-focused organization where the role extends beyond food preparation to delivering peace of mind and a quality lifestyle for residents, while also providing a fulfilling career path with meaningful impact.
