The current opening for a Line Cook at Holston Hills Country Club is an excellent opportunity for culinary professionals who are passionate about food preparation and eager to be part of a dynamic kitchen team. This part-time position plays a critical role in maintaining the high culinary standards expected at the club by preparing menu items at the Saute Station with precision and care. The ideal candidate will work closely under the guidance of the Executive Chef, following par sheets and specific kitchen instructions to ensure consistency and quality in every dish served.
As a Line Cook, key responsibilities include preparing meats, seafood, vegetables, and other ingredients required for menu items and special functions, adhering strictly to the club’s standardized recipes. The role demands attentiveness in monitoring the cooking process to achieve proper doneness, seasoning, and presentation of dishes. This position also requires maintaining cleanliness and organization in the work station, safely handling food products, and contributing to the overall kitchen efficiency.

Job Requirements
- High school diploma or GED
- At least six months related experience or training
- Food safety certification
- Ability to stand for long periods and walk, climb stairs, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, bend, stretch and twist or reach
- Ability to push, pull or lift up to 50 pounds
- Ability to perform continuous repetitive motions
- Willingness to work in hot, humid and noisy environment
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- At least six months related experience or training
- Sound knowledge of menu and skills to determine taste, doneness, presentation, timing and product utilization
- Knowledge of and ability to perform required role during emergency situations
- Food safety certification
Job Duties
- Prepare meats, seafood, vegetables, and other items required for the line and special functions as assigned
- Follow club's standard recipes when pre-preparing and preparing all items
- Assemble all tools and utensils needed to accomplish job duties
- Prepare or assist in preparing employee meals
- Assist with preparation of other food products in other kitchen areas as directed by supervisor
- Use food preparation equipment according to manufacturers' instructions
- Return unused food products to proper storage areas
- Use safe and sanitary food handling procedures including those relating to personal hygiene
- Maintain and clean work station and equipment
- Dispose of trash and food-preparation waste at the end of shift
- Return soiled food preparation utensils and other small wares to proper areas
- Make recommendations for maintenance, repair, and upkeep of the saute area and equipment
- Attend staff meetings and offer suggestions for improvements
- Perform other tasks assigned by supervisor
