Job Description
Hawthorne is a leading multifamily management company recognized as one of the top 50 largest in the United States, with its roots proudly planted in the Southeastern region. Known for its award-winning apartment communities, Hawthorne has built a reputation for operational excellence and a unique culture dedicated to service, connection, and surpassing customer expectations. The company embraces a 'Live It' philosophy that focuses heavily on creating meaningful experiences not just for residents but also for its employees. This philosophy is at the core of Hawthorne's workplace environment, reflecting its commitment to fostering a culture of kindness, community, and professional growth. Through this culture, the organization aims to build long-lasting relationships with residents and team members alike, emphasizing the importance of engagement and support at every stage.
The part-time Leasing Consultant role at Hawthorne serves as a crucial ambassador position within this community-centered environment. These Leasing & Live It Specialists are essentially the face of the community, responsible for creating outstanding first impressions and forging strong connections with both prospective and current residents. This role involves conducting engaging apartment tours tailored to highlight the unique lifestyle benefits and value offered by Hawthorne properties, as well as responding to inquiries through phone, email, and web channels with thoroughness and professionalism. The Leasing Consultant is tasked with converting potential leads into residents through effective follow-up and relationship management, which includes completing necessary leasing applications and paperwork meticulously. Additionally, they play an active role in resident retention by supporting occupancy and renewal goals.
The responsibilities extend beyond just leasing activities; these consultants foster resident relationships by organizing community events, addressing resident questions with a service-oriented approach, and maintaining a welcoming office and common area environment. They also contribute to brand-building efforts through marketing initiatives such as social media engagement and community outreach while staying informed about local market trends to help keep the community competitive. Successful individuals in this role exhibit a positive attitude, clear communication skills, a strong customer focus aligned with the Live It culture, persuasive interpersonal abilities, and a willingness to learn and be coached. The work schedule typically runs Monday through Friday with some Saturday hours, providing one weekday off weekly to maintain a 40-hour work week, though occasional evening and weekend availability may be required for resident events.
This opportunity is ideal for candidates interested in customer service, sales, or leasing with at least one year of relevant experience preferred but not mandatory. A high school diploma or GED is required, along with a valid driver’s license; possession of a Certified Apartment Leasing Professional Accreditation (CALP) is an added advantage. Hawthorne offers more than just a job—it provides a pathway for career growth through its Career Path Program, continuous learning and development support, and potential advancement into full-time maintenance roles or assistant community manager positions. Furthermore, part-time leasing consultants earn hourly compensation plus monthly leasing commissions and incentives, making this role financially rewarding.
Hawthorne's comprehensive Total Rewards Package includes health and wellness perks such as premium subscriptions for Calm and Noom, caregiver support apps, gym and financial wellness reimbursements, and access to employee assistance programs. Additional employee benefits include discounts on travel, retail, and pet insurance, access to fully furnished apartment suites, and opportunities to participate in community service and team-building events. Equal opportunity employment is a fundamental principle at Hawthorne, ensuring a diverse and inclusive workplace where all employees are valued and supported.
