This role is an essential position within the housekeeping department at one of IHG's properties, designed to support the daily operations of room attendants on assigned floors. The Housekeeping Assistant is responsible for several critical tasks that ensure the smooth and efficient delivery of housekeeping services which directly impact guest satisfaction and operational effectiveness. Key responsibilities include assisting room attendants by carrying heavy items, delivering fresh linens and supplies throughout the day, and maintaining the organization and cleanliness of floor closets and vending areas. Additionally, the assistant handles guest requests promptly, cleans designated public areas such as restrooms and storage spaces, monitors supply usage to minimize waste, and supports recycling initiatives by collecting newspapers and other recyclable items.

This position offers hourly compensation of $17.36 and requires a flexible approach to working hours, with shifts assigned but subject to variation across the week, including weekends, evenings, and holidays to meet guest needs around the clock. Physical stamina and the ability to lift heavy items—up to 75 pounds—and push or pull objects weighing approximately 300 pounds are essential for this role. Frequent standing, walking, bending, stooping, kneeling, and handling of housekeeping equipment are also required.

Job Requirements

  • high school diploma or equivalent
  • ability to lift items up to 75 pounds
  • ability to push or pull approximately 300 pounds
  • ability to stand and move frequently during shifts
  • ability to bend, stoop, and kneel regularly
  • availability to work 7 days a week including holidays
  • basic knowledge of housekeeping duties
  • previous experience in hospitality is an advantage

Job Duties
