We are currently seeking a Part Time Houseperson to join our dedicated housekeeping team at Hampton Inn Northeast-Fort Jackson. This role is an excellent opportunity for hardworking and detail-oriented individuals passionate about hospitality and committed to maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness and guest service. The Houseperson will be responsible for ensuring hotel common areas, public spaces, and back-of-house areas are clean, well-stocked, and well-maintained. The role encompasses a wide variety of duties including general cleaning tasks such as vacuuming, sweeping, mopping, dusting hallways, stairwells, and public spaces, emptying trash receptacles, and maintaining organization of storage areas and housekeeping carts. The Houseperson assists in preparing guest rooms by making beds, replenishing linens, and ensuring all rooms meet hotel standards. Additionally, the role requires prompt response to guest requests, reporting maintenance issues, assisting with housekeeping team needs, and maintaining safety and security protocols to create a safe environment for guests and staff.

Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Prior experience in a similar role preferred but not required
  • Ability to interact professionally with guests and team members
  • Strong organizational skills to maintain cleanliness standards
  • Willingness to work various shifts including weekends and holidays
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively with hotel staff
  • Understanding of cleaning techniques and equipment use is a plus
  • Ability to stand, walk, push, pull, and lift for extended periods of time
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50lbs
  • Frequent bending, kneeling, and reaching
  • Comfortable working in both indoor and outdoor areas as needed

Job Duties

  • Perform general cleaning tasks including vacuuming, sweeping, mopping, and dusting in hallways, stairwells, and public spaces
  • Empty trash receptacles and replace liners
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of storage areas and housekeeping carts
  • Clean and maintain hotel amenities such as lobby areas, restrooms, and fitness centers
  • Ensure all cleaning supplies are stocked and report shortages to the supervisor
  • Assist housekeepers in preparing guest rooms including making beds and replenishing linens
  • Collect dirty linens and deliver clean ones to designated laundry area
  • Handle guest requests promptly to ensure satisfaction
  • Report maintenance or repair issues in guest rooms to appropriate department
  • Respond to housekeeping team requests for supplies, linens, and equipment
  • Assist with removal of trash, dirty linens, and debris from floors and hallways
  • Help maintain inventory of housekeeping supplies and inform supervisor of shortages
  • Collaborate with team for efficient and timely task completion
  • Follow hotel safety and security procedures
  • Report suspicious activities, safety hazards, or emergencies
  • Follow proper procedures for handling lost and found items
