This part-time Host position at VEA Newport Beach requires a professional who is dedicated to delivering exceptional guest experiences from the moment guests arrive. The role involves greeting and seating guests, managing the dining area’s flow, and ensuring that the guests feel welcomed and valued throughout their visit. As a Host, you will be the first critical point of contact for diners, responsible for orchestrating seating arrangements, accommodating special needs, and maintaining a clean, orderly environment that reflects the resort’s luxury standards.

- ability to greet and seat guests professionally
- ability to stand, sit, or walk for extended periods
- ability to move, lift, carry, push, pull objects up to 10 pounds without assistance

Job Duties
- Greet guests and determine the number in their party
- seat guests by finding a clean, available table
- pull out chairs
- place clean/current menu in front of guest
- guide guests through dining rooms and provide needed assistance
- move and arrange tables, chairs, and settings
- organize seating for groups with special needs
- ensure appropriate place settings with napkin, clean silverware, and other standard items
- check menus to ensure they are current, clean, plentiful, and wrinkle-free
- maintain cleanliness of work areas practicing clean-as-you-go procedures
- monitor dining rooms for seating availability, service, safety, and guest well-being
- follow all company and safety policies and procedures
- report accidents, injuries, and unsafe conditions to manager
- complete safety training and certifications
- ensure clean and professional uniform and appearance
- maintain confidentiality of proprietary information
- protect company assets
- welcome and acknowledge all guests according to company standards
- speak using clear and professional language
- answer telephones with appropriate etiquette
- develop and maintain positive working relationships
- support team to reach common goals
- listen and respond to concerns of other employees
- ensure adherence to quality expectations and standards
- stand, sit, or walk for extended periods
- move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing up to 10 pounds
