Job Requirements

  • High school education or equivalent
  • 1 to 2 years of relevant food and beverage or restaurant experience
  • prior experience in food and beverage service
  • ability to maintain professional demeanor
  • availability for part-time, on-call, or temporary employment
  • effective communication skills
  • basic computer proficiency

Job Qualifications

  • High school graduate or equivalent preferred
  • college degree preferred with emphasis on hospitality and tourism
  • 1 to 2 years of previous restaurant or food and beverage experience required
  • luxury hotel experience preferred
  • knowledge of POS and reservation systems preferred

Job Duties

  • Meet and greet guests as they arrive and depart
  • offer choice of seating and escort guests to their tables
  • present menus maintaining standard presentation
  • maintain proper dining room setup and cleanliness
  • promptly answer telephone and input messages
  • retrieve and communicate messages to guests
  • retrieve mail, packages, and facsimiles as requested
  • receive and manage reservations and special function arrangements
  • cooperate closely with restaurant and kitchen team
  • act as liaison between guests and other hotel departments
  • inspect linen, china, silverware, and condiments
  • clear tables during and after meal periods
  • maintain cleanliness of host/hostess stand
  • provide information about hotel facilities and local attractions
