The Part-Time Host Support is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and organization of the host podium and restaurant entrance, preparing seating charts, and supporting staff with station organization according to departmental procedures. Additionally, this role involves monitoring the buffet presentation and assisting servers and bussers with table set-up to promote seamless guest service. Effective communication about guest needs, especially regarding V.I.P. arrivals, is crucial, along with promptly addressing any guest concerns and escalating issues to management when necessary. The closing duties require overseeing staff task completion to ensure that the restaurant environment is ready for the next day.
This position is ideal for individuals who have at least one year of experience in a host role within the hospitality or restaurant industry, possess strong organizational abilities, and have a genuine passion for delivering exceptional guest experiences. Physical stamina is also required as the job involves standing or walking for extended periods and lifting trays weighing up to 40 pounds. The role requires possession of a Liquor Commission Card and alcohol awareness certification to ensure legal and safe service practices.

Job Requirements
- Minimum of one-year experience as a host person
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Possession of a Liquor Commission Card and alcohol awareness certification
- Ability to lift trays up to 40 lbs
- Ability to stand or walk for extended periods
- Ability to work in an outdoor environment
- Strong organizational skills
- Positive attitude and excellent guest relations

Job Duties
- Warmly greet and acknowledge all guests as they arrive and depart
- Escort guests to their tables and assist in seating, ensuring they have menus and wine lists readily available
- Prepare seating charts and organize stations for staff according to department procedures
- Keep the host/hostess podium equipped with necessary supplies and maintain its cleanliness at all times
- Inspect the restaurant and entrance areas, ensuring hygiene and cleanliness standards are consistently met
- Monitor buffet appearance and quality to provide the best experience for guests
- Assist servers and bussers in setting up tables to ensure optimal guest service
- Effectively communicate important guest information, such as V.I.P. arrivals, to relevant personnel
- Address guest concerns promptly to ensure satisfaction and escalate to management as needed
- Complete assigned closing duties and oversee the completion of staff tasks at the end of shifts
