This job opening is for a Host/Hostess position, a pivotal role in Aramark's dining services. The individual selected will be the first and last point of contact for guests, responsible for creating a welcoming and positive atmosphere through exceptional customer service. The position requires someone who is not only organized and efficient but also empathetic and skilled in interpersonal communication. The Host/Hostess will greet and seat visitors, ensuring optimal use of the dining area, and accommodate any special requests to enhance the guest experience. Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Previous experience in host or hostess role or related food service field preferred
- Ability to communicate effectively with diverse guests and team members
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays
- Must obtain and maintain food safety certification
- Ability to fulfill physical job requirements including lifting, bending, pushing, pulling, and extended periods of walking or standing
- Commitment to uphold safety and sanitation protocols as per Aramark guidelines
Job Qualifications
- Previous host or hostess or food service experience preferred
- Demonstrates excellent guest service skills
- Demonstrates excellent communication and interpersonal skills, both written and verbal
- Demonstrates strong organizational skills, accuracy, and attention to detail
- Flexible schedule to work evenings, weekends, and holidays
- Enjoys working in a lively environment
- Must be able to obtain food safety certification
- Ability to handle physical demands such as lifting, bending, pushing, pulling, extended walking or standing
- Willingness to wear uniforms and use personal protective equipment
Job Duties
- Greets guests as they arrive and seats them accordingly ensuring the optimum use of tables
- Ensures any special needs or requests for diners are accommodated and arranged
- Maintains the appearance and cleanliness of the front-of-house environment
- Escalates any guest needs or concerns as necessary
- Works closely with the kitchen staff and servers optimizing communication to ensure efficient operations
- Maintains excellent guest service and positive demeanor towards guests, clients, co-workers, etc.
- Adapts to guest needs
- Adheres to Aramark safety policies and procedures including proper food safety and sanitation
