Job Description
Xanitos, Inc. is a distinguished management company specializing in providing comprehensive hospital support services, including housekeeping, patient transport, central laundries, and patient observation services. Known for its commitment to quality and innovation, Xanitos stands out in the healthcare services sector through its patented XRO System, designed specifically to enhance the cleaning of patient rooms. The company prides itself on exceptional operational management and its status as a private entity with a clear focus on delivering top-tier services. This dedication has resulted in noticeable improvements in hospital environments where Xanitos operates. Hospitals benefiting from Xanitos’ services have reported higher HCHAPS scores, a significant reduction in healthcare-associated infections (HAIs), faster bed turnaround times, and considerable cost savings. These outcomes underscore Xanitos' role as a trusted partner in healthcare facility management.
Currently, Xanitos is seeking Part-Time Environmental Service Hospital Housekeepers for all shifts at Lutheran Hospital in Fort Wayne, Indiana. This position offers an hourly wage of $16.00 and includes shifts from 7:00 am to 1:30 pm and 5:00 pm to 1:30 am, with rotational weekends. Additionally, qualified candidates will receive immediate job offers and have the opportunity to interview promptly, often within the next day. A $500 sign-on bonus is available, paid in three increments, to welcome new team members. The role is ideal for individuals who value contributing to patient safety and comfort through meticulous cleaning and maintenance of healthcare environments.
The Environmental Service Hospital Housekeeper will operate across various locations within the client’s healthcare campus, ensuring all areas meet stringent cleanliness and safety standards. This includes cleaning and polishing surfaces such as lighting fixtures, marble, and trim, as well as maintaining rooms, hallways, restrooms, and other work areas such as lounges and elevators. The position also involves sweeping and vacuuming floors, dusting furniture and equipment, polishing metalwork, washing walls, ceilings, windows, door panels and sills, and emptying wastebaskets while transporting trash to designated disposal points. Moreover, hospital housekeepers will replenish bathroom supplies and assist in the transport of small equipment or tools between departments as needed.
Candidates must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19, barring any approved medical or religious exemptions. The company values experience in the janitorial or medical cleaning sectors as advantageous but not mandatory. Prospective employees will be subject to a post-offer medical exam, background screening, and drug test before employment begins. The role demands a high level of physical endurance, including the ability to stand for long periods, frequently lift and carry up to 50 pounds, and perform tasks requiring fine motor skills like handling cleaning equipment and supplies. The work environment typically involves exposure to airborne particles and occasional interaction with moving mechanical parts, although the noise level remains generally low.
Overall, this position is perfect for candidates looking to make a meaningful impact on hospital cleanliness and patient care quality while working a flexible, part-time schedule. The combination of competitive pay, a supportive work environment, and the chance to join a company renowned for excellence in hospital services makes this role a promising opportunity for individuals dedicated to healthcare support careers.
