Job Requirements
- Less than 1 year of experience using a computer including inputting accessing modifying or outputting information
- Less than 1 year of experience using common retail technology such as smartphones and tablets
- 1 to 2 years of retail experience as a cashier
- Must be able to lift items weighing up to 15 pounds with or without a reasonable accommodation
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- 1 to 2 years of experience as a cashier
- Experience providing customer service in a retail environment
- Ability to operate cash registers and POS systems
- Experience coaching or training retail associates preferred
- Knowledge of store safety standards and loss prevention
- Skilled in handling multiple tasks and customer interactions
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills
- Familiarity with retail technology such as smartphones and tablets
- Demonstrated ability to lift items up to 15 pounds
- Experience working in a fast-paced retail setting
- Basic computer skills including data entry and information access
Job Duties
- Monitor and assist customers at multiple self-checkout registers simultaneously
- Proactively engage and greet customers while recommending products and services
- Ensure accurate transaction completion by handling products and registers
- Provide excellent customer service by following company policies and procedures
- Assist customers in locating, selecting, and purchasing merchandise
- Use cash registers to process sales transactions, returns, and refunds
- Provide coaching, training, and support to front-end associates
- Prepare register areas by confirming functionality and stocking supplies
- Inspect returned merchandise for damages and place returns properly
- Monitor and help maintain store safety and security
- Detect and report signs of theft or security risks to management
- Maintain store cleanliness and adherence to safety programs
- Operate various store equipment as required
- Answer phones and direct calls as necessary
- Open additional registers to manage peak times
- Ensure compliance with all safety protocols relevant to the job
- Accountable for additional duties as assigned
