Job Requirements

  • Less than 1 year of experience using a computer including inputting, accessing, modifying, or outputting information
  • Less than 1 year of experience using common retail technology such as smart phones and tablets
  • 1 to 2 years of retail experience as a cashier
  • Ability to lift items weighing up to 15 pounds with or without reasonable accommodation

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • 1 to 2 years of retail experience as a cashier
  • Experience providing customer service in retail environments
  • Knowledge of product features, warranties, and sales techniques
  • Capability to coach and train team members
  • Familiarity with retail technology such as cash registers and self-checkout systems
  • Ability to detect common signs of shoplifting and handle security concerns
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Basic computer skills for entering orders and processing transactions

Job Duties

  • Monitor and assist customers at multiple self-checkout registers simultaneously
  • Proactively greet and engage customers with product and service recommendations
  • Process sales transactions, returns, and refunds using cash registers
  • Provide accurate monetary change and support to front-end associates
  • Coach, train, and provide feedback to associates in departmental duties and sales opportunities
  • Inspect returned merchandise and prepare register area for shifts
  • Enter and submit customer orders and manage order tickets
  • Communicate product, warranty, and program information to customers
  • Open additional registers as needed to maintain coverage
  • Detect and report signs of shoplifting, theft, and security risks
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of store and work areas
  • Operate store equipment such as phones, paging systems, and scanners
  • Ensure safety standards compliance and secure work environment
  • Answer phone inquiries and direct calls or take messages
  • Assist customers in locating, demonstrating, and loading merchandise
  • Perform other duties as assigned
