This career opportunity is centered around the role of a Customer Service Associate (CSA) Front End Team member, a pivotal position within Lowe's retail operations. The CSA plays an essential role in delivering SMART customer service by strictly adhering to Lowe's customer service policies, procedures, and programs. This position is dynamic and customer-facing, requiring a proactive approach to engaging customers, understanding their needs, and assisting them throughout their shopping experience. Responsibilities encompass a wide range of tasks including guiding customers through product selection, demonstrating merchandise, facilitating sales transactions, handling returns, and promoting Lowe's programs such as special orders, warranties, and add-on sales.

The role demands a strong commitment to maintaining a safe, secure, and organized work environment. Candidates will be expected to monitor store entrances, identify potential security risks such as shoplifting or theft, and comply with all safety protocols relevant to daily duties. Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED or equivalent years of experience in lieu of education requirement
  • Less than 1 year experience using a computer including inputting, accessing, modifying, or outputting information
  • Less than 1 year experience using common retail technology such as smart phones and tablets
  • 1 year retail experience as a cashier
  • Ability to obtain sales related licensure or registration as may be required by law

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED or equivalent years of experience in lieu of education requirement
  • Less than 1 year experience using a computer including inputting, accessing, modifying, or outputting information
  • Less than 1 year experience using common retail technology such as smart phones and tablets
  • 1 year retail experience as a cashier
  • Ability to obtain sales related licensure or registration as may be required by law
  • Preferred 1 year experience identifying and selling products based on customer needs including credit cards, installations, add-on sales, and protection plans
  • Preferred 1 year experience as a head cashier
  • Preferred less than 1 year experience working in any department at a Lowe's retail store
  • Preferred 1 year supervisory experience including directing, delegating, evaluating, training, and coaching employees
  • Preferred less than 1 year retail experience detecting common signs of shoplifting

Job Duties

  • Provides SMART customer service at all times through the daily execution of Lowe's customer service policies and procedures
  • Seeks out customers to understand their needs and assists in locating, demonstrating, selecting, carrying, and/or loading merchandise
  • Listens to and responds knowledgeably to customer and employee questions and walks them through projects when necessary
  • Communicates information to customers regarding stock, special order merchandise, feature benefits, application, and warranty information related to Lowe's programs
  • Coaches, develops, provides feedback, and trains associates in departmental duties or sales opportunities
  • Uses a cash register to process sales transactions, returns, and refunds according to company guidelines
  • Provides monetary change to CSA Front End associates for register activities
  • Removes security tags, verifies product information, and bags merchandise for customers
  • Assists in line vesting to improve checkout turnaround time and opens additional registers when necessary
  • Prepares register area at beginning and end of shift by confirming functionality and stocking supplies
  • Inspects returned merchandise for damages
  • Enters and submits customer orders, prints order tickets, verifies receipts, and signs off on loading tickets
  • Looks up product information and competitor prices for price matching
  • Records store use items on store use lists
  • Completes cash counting and daily reconciliation duties
  • Monitors cash in drawer and recycler levels to ensure compliance
  • Monitors merchandise entering and leaving store
  • Detects common signs of shoplifting and promptly reports to management or Asset Protection
  • Ensures compliance with housekeeping standards and programs to maintain cleanliness and organization
  • Maintains a safe and secure work environment through safety reviews and hazard noting
  • Adheres to safety requirements relevant to job duties including top stock safety and use of safety devices
  • Operates store equipment as needed depending on role and department
  • Performs additional duties as assigned
