Job Requirements
- Less than 1 year of experience using a computer including inputting, accessing, modifying, or outputting information
- Less than 1 year of experience using common retail technology such as smartphones and tablets
- 1 to 2 years of retail experience as a cashier
- Must be able to lift items weighing up to 15 pounds with or without reasonable accommodation
- Availability to work varied shifts including evenings and weekends
- Ability to stand and move for extended periods
- Good physical condition to perform bending, reaching, and lifting tasks
- Adherence to safety protocols and company policies
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Ability to work well in a team environment.
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- 1 to 2 years of retail experience as a cashier
- Experience identifying and selling products based on customer needs
- Ability to explain warranties, product features, and benefits
- Experience working as a head cashier
- Experience working in any Lowe's retail department
- Supervisory experience including directing, delegating, evaluating, training, and coaching employees
- Basic knowledge of using common retail technology such as smart phones and tablets
- Experience detecting signs of shoplifting preferred
- Strong customer service skills
- Ability to multitask effectively
- Good communication skills
- Ability to operate various store equipment safely.
Job Duties
- Demonstrates ability to monitor and identify customers who need assistance at multiple self-checkout registers simultaneously
- Approaches and interacts with customers to proactively recommend products and services appropriately
- Proactively greets, assists, and engages with multiple customers on multiple registers at the same time
- Moves throughout the checkout area standing, walking, reaching, bending, lifting, and moving product to ensure accurate completion of transactions
- Thanks the customer for their business and invites them back to shop at Lowe's
- Provides SMART customer service by executing Lowe's customer service policies and programs daily
- Seeks out customers to understand needs and assists in locating, demonstrating, selecting, carrying, and/or loading merchandise
- Listens to and responds knowledgeably and promptly to customer and employee questions by taking them to areas of the store and walking them through projects
- Demonstrates sincere appreciation to customers
- Communicates information regarding stock, special orders, feature benefits, application, and warranties
- Coaches, develops, provides feedback, and trains associates in departmental duties or sales opportunities
- Uses cash register to process sales, returns, and refunds according to guidelines
- Provides monetary change to CSA Front End associates
- Supervises, coaches, and supports CSA Front End Team
- Removes security tags, verifies product information, and bags merchandise
- Answers incoming phone calls and directs or takes messages
- Opens additional registers as needed to ensure coverage
- Assists in line vesting to expedite checkout
- Prepares register area by confirming register and scanner functionality and stocking supplies
- Inspects returned merchandise for damages
- Enters and submits customer orders, prints order tickets, verifies receipts, and signs off loading tickets
- Reviews and places online orders and returned merchandise appropriately
- Looks up product and competitor prices for price matching
- Records store use items
- Obtains safety bags and monitors cash drawer amounts
- Monitors merchandise entering and exiting store entrances and assists with alarms
- Detects signs of shoplifting, theft, and security risks, and communicates to management
- Ensures compliance with housekeeping standards to maintain cleanliness and organization
- Maintains a safe work environment by conducting safety reviews, noting hazards, keeping aisles clear, and securing doors
- Adheres to all relevant safety requirements including equipment usage
- Operates store equipment such as phones, paging systems, copiers, fax machines, CCTV, key cutters, and other specialty machinery
- Performs other duties as assigned.
