This full-time role focuses on delivering SMART customer service, ensuring every customer interaction is handled with professionalism and attentiveness, aligned with Lowe's customer service policies and procedures. As a CSA Front End Team member, you will play an integral part in assisting customers by understanding their needs, guiding them through product selections, and helping them carry or load merchandise when necessary.

Your responsibilities will encompass a variety of important retail functions such as processing sales transactions, returns, and refunds via the cash register; training and coaching fellow associates; and ensuring the sales floor and registers are well-prepared, orderly, and secure. In addition, you will be responsible for merchandise inspections, security monitoring to prevent theft, and maintaining compliance with safety and housekeeping standards. You will also use several store technologies including cash recyclers, scanners, and various communication devices, enabling a smooth shopping experience for customers.

Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED or equivalent years of experience in lieu of education requirement if applicable
  • Less than 1 year experience using a computer including inputting, accessing, modifying, or outputting information
  • Less than 1 year experience using common retail technology such as smartphones and tablets
  • One year retail experience as a cashier
  • Ability to obtain sales related licensure or registration as may be required by law

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED or equivalent experience
  • Experience of less than 1 year using a computer including inputting and accessing information
  • Experience of less than 1 year using retail technology such as smartphones and tablets
  • One year retail experience as a cashier
  • Ability to obtain sales related licensure or registration if legally required
  • Experience identifying and selling products based on customer needs including credit cards, add-on sales, protection plans, installations, and warranty explanations
  • One year experience as a head cashier
  • Experience working in any Lowe's retail department of less than 1 year
  • One year supervisory experience including directing, delegating, evaluating, training, and coaching employees
  • Experience detecting common signs of retail theft

Job Duties

  • Provide SMART customer service through execution of Lowe's policies and programs
  • Seek out customers to understand needs and assist in locating, demonstrating, selecting, carrying, or loading merchandise
  • Respond knowledgeably and promptly to customer and employee questions
  • Communicate information about stock, special orders, features, benefits, applications, and warranties
  • Coach, develop, provide feedback, and train associates in departmental duties or sales opportunities
  • Process sales transactions, returns, and refunds using cash registers according to company guidelines
  • Provide monetary change to CSA associates for register activities
  • Remove security tags, verify product info, and bag merchandise
  • Assist in line vesting and opening registers to ensure checkout coverage
  • Prepare register areas by confirming functionality and stocking supplies
  • Inspect returned merchandise for damages
  • Enter and submit customer orders, print and verify order tickets
  • Look up product information and competitor prices for price match verification
  • Record items used in the store on store use lists
  • Complete cash counting and daily reconciliation duties
  • Monitor cash in drawer and recycler levels to ensure limits
  • Monitor merchandise entering and leaving and assist with alarm triggers
  • Detect signs of shoplifting and communicate to management
  • Ensure compliance with housekeeping standards to maintain cleanliness and organization
  • Maintain a safe and secure work environment and conduct safety reviews
  • Adhere to all safety requirements including top stock safety, safety cables, aisle blockers, and spotters
  • Operate store equipment such as phones, paging systems, cash recyclers, copiers, CCTV systems, key cutters, paint mixers, flooring cutters, and balers
  • Perform other duties as assigned
