With more than 1,700 home improvement stores, 530 branches, and 130 distribution centers across the United States, Lowe's serves approximately 16 million customer transactions every week. Based in Mooresville, North Carolina, Lowe's is committed to more than just home improvement – the company takes pride in supporting communities through various initiatives. These include creating safe and affordable housing, improving community spaces, developing the next generation of skilled trade experts, and providing disaster relief to communities in need.
As a large-scale operation with fiscal year 2025 sales exceeding $86 billion, Lowe's employs around 300,000 associates who are dedicated to delivering exemplary customer service and ensuring a great shopping experience for all customers. Lowe's corporate culture emphasizes equal opportunity employment and inclusive hiring practices, focusing on promoting diversity and ensuring that all personnel practices are conducted without regard to race, gender, age, disability, or other protected categories. This commitment creates a positive work environment where every employee has the potential to grow and thrive.
This position at Lowe's offers a remarkable opportunity to join a leading home improvement retailer that values your talents, skills, and dedication. The role involves providing SMART (Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Relevant, Time-bound) customer service aligned with Lowe's customer service policies, procedures, and programs. Employees will engage with customers actively by seeking out their needs and assisting them in locating, demonstrating, selecting, carrying, or loading merchandise. The position requires a friendly attitude and strong communication skills to respond promptly and knowledgeably to questions from customers and coworkers alike.
Other essential responsibilities include coaching and training associates in departmental duties and sales opportunities, processing sales transactions, refunds, and returns using the cash register, and managing register supplies and functionality. Employees will also monitor store security by looking out for signs of shoplifting or theft and ensuring compliance with store safety and housekeeping standards. The position demands keen attention to detail as associates inspect returned merchandise for damages, submit and verify customer orders, maintain store use lists, and complete cash counting and reconciliation duties.
Lowe's expects employees to help maintain a safe and secure work environment by conducting daily safety reviews, reporting hazards, keeping aisles clear, and securing entrances and exits. The role involves operating various store equipment such as cash recyclers, cash registers, telephones, paging systems, and CCTV surveillance systems, among others. Whether it's assisting customers at checkout or supporting other teams, employees contribute to the seamless operation of the store.
Overall, this position at Lowe's is ideal for individuals looking to develop their retail and customer service expertise within a supportive and growth-oriented company. Employees benefit from comprehensive training and development opportunities, which equip them with skills applicable both within and beyond the retail sector.
