Job Requirements

  • Less than 1 year of experience using a computer including inputting and modifying information
  • Less than 1 year of experience using common retail technology such as smartphones and tablets
  • 1 to 2 years of retail experience as a cashier
  • Must be able to lift items weighing up to 15 pounds with or without reasonable accommodation

Job Qualifications

  • Less than 1 year of experience using a computer including inputting and modifying information

  • 1 to 2 years of retail experience as a cashier
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Experience identifying and selling products based on customer needs including credit cards and protection plans preferred
  • Experience as a head cashier preferred
  • Experience working in any department at Lowe's retail stores preferred
  • Supervisory experience preferred
  • Experience detecting signs of shoplifting preferred

Job Duties

  • Demonstrates ability to monitor and identify customers needing assistance at multiple self-checkout registers simultaneously
  • Approaches and interacts with customers to recommend products and services
  • Proactively greets, assists, and engages with multiple customers on registers
  • Moves throughout checkout area ensuring accurate transactions
  • Thanks customers and encourages return visits
  • Provides SMART customer service
  • Assists customers in locating, demonstrating, selecting, carrying, and loading merchandise
  • Listens and responds to customer and employee questions and guides them through projects
  • Coaches, develops, provides feedback, and trains associates on sales and departmental duties
  • Uses cash register to process sales, returns, and refunds
  • Provides monetary change to front end associates
  • Supervises, coaches, and supports front end team
  • Removes security tags and bags merchandise
  • Answers phone calls and directs or takes messages
  • Opens additional registers as needed
  • Prepares register area, checks functionality of equipment, and stocks supplies
  • Inspects returned merchandise for damage
  • Processes customer orders and loading tickets
  • Manages online orders and returned merchandise
  • Verifies price matches and product information
  • Maintains store use lists
  • Monitors cash in drawers and retrieves safety bags
  • Observes merchandise entering and leaving the store
  • Detects signs of shoplifting and reports to management
  • Ensures compliance with housekeeping and safety standards
  • Maintains a safe and secure work environment
  • Operates store equipment as needed
  • Performs other duties as assigned
